Senior Engineer - Collaboration/Workspace Technology
Position Summary
GEICO is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer with a passion for building high performance, low maintenance, zero-downtime platforms, and applications. You will help drive our insurance business transformation as we transition from a traditional IT model to a tech organization with engineering excellence as its mission, while co-creating the culture of psychological safety and continuous improvement.
Position Description
Our Senior Engineer Collaboration/Technology is a key member of the collaboration platform engineering staff working across the organization to provide a friction-less experience to our customers and maintain the highest standards of protection and availability. Our team thrives and succeeds in delivering high quality technology products and services in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift quickly. The ideal candidate has broad and deep technical knowledge, typically ranging from front-end UIs through back-end systems and all points in between.
Position Responsibilities
As a Senior Engineer, you will:
Lead projects involving major business collaboration platforms and advocates for best practices. Assume Service Ownership of existing business collaboration platform and servicesManage end to end voice and video quality by working closely with the network and telecom team to provide capacity recommendationsDrive enhancement and continuously improve the quality of collaboration services and end user experienceImplement platform upgrades and feature expansions to existing collaboration platformsDefine the technical architecture and support the implementation of new collaboration services from technical perspectiveProvide technical leadership in driving projects migrating from existing platforms to new platformsContribute to decision making and drive projects involving major business collaboration platforms such as Webex, Zoom, Slack and TeamsDrive proof of concepts to test new technologies and collaboration platforms working closely with network and telecommunication teamsAssure 24x7 operations and stability of collaboration services with high regard for end user experienceSupport the creation of the enterprise level roadmap in terms of collaboration for the future business demandsScope, design, and build scalable, resilient systemsProvide knowledge share, mentoring, and systems training to junior team members as neededConsistently share best practices, and improve processes within and across teamsContribute to significant business initiatives, attend scrum meetings, and give presentations Solve difficult problems, learn new technologies, and push the boundaries of what is possible Work to understand and build product definition and leverage your technical skills to drive towards the right solutionQualifications
Experience in decision making and driving projects involving major collaboration platforms such as Slack, Zoom, Webex, and MS TeamsKnowledge of collaboration products and hardware such as video endpoints, including Room Kits, Webex Boards, Control Hub, LDAP integration, including experience with deployment, management, API integrations, and troubleshootingExperience with installation, configuration, and management of audio infrastructureExperience triaging complex call flows across the environments to include log collection and packet captureExperience with Active Directory and Azure ADExperience with vendor management and technical supportUnderstanding of the security and compliance needs of the business and how they apply to the Collaboration suite, including certificates and secure communicationUnderstanding of Virtual and Cloud infrastructuresUnderstanding of networking protocols, devices, and telephony applications on Telecom RoutersUnderstanding and ability to correlate alerts into problem resolutions, including custom alerts with thresholds for greater availability and stability Strong problem-solving abilityStrong oral and written communication skills Ability to excel in a fast-paced environmentExperience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience
Annual Salary
$85,000.00 - $230,000.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
