Senior Engineer - Drainage - UK (Microdrainage)

Role Accountabilities:

As Senior Engineer, provide support in as follows :

Design Standards: The candidate will be responsible for developing designs in adherence to industry standards. Team Leadership: They will lead a drainage team and effectively manage project deliveries. Proactive Project Leadership: The role entails proactive leadership of projects, taking independent initiatives to drive project deliveries. Collaboration: Regular interactions with lead regions and the GEC team are expected, fostering open discussions and collaborations. Technical Proficiency: The candidate should demonstrate technical prowess as an independent problem solver. Capacity Building: One of the responsibilities is to enhance the team's capabilities to attract new business opportunities and ensure 100% quality in processes, training, and checklists. Knowledge Sharing: Sharing knowledge and facilitating knowledge transfer within the wider team, along with the implementation of industry best practices in project deliveries, is a crucial aspect of this role.

 

Required Specific Competencies

The candidate will be responsible for designing projects in line with industry standards. They will lead a drainage team and oversee project deliveries. This role involves proactive project leadership, taking independent actions to ensure successful project outcomes. Collaboration with lead regions and the GEC team is essential, promoting open discussions and teamwork. The candidate should possess strong technical skills, focus on team capacity building, and actively share knowledge while implementing industry best practices for project excellence.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

 Experience :

The candidate should have extensive experience of at least 6+ years in developing sustainable drainage schemes for major infrastructure projects in various land usage patterns, such as airports, highways, rail networks, and site developments. They should also have experience in design management and project management activities, with a proven track record of successfully delivering drainage projects in the UK region. The candidate should be recognized in the field and with clients, demonstrating their ability to manage project deliveries independently from concept to construction stages. They should possess knowledge and application of relevant British Standards, be aware of construction in the drainage field and the latest technologies, equipment, and risk assessment and mitigative measures. Additionally, the candidate should have proficiency in relevant design software applications, BIM software like Civil 3D and AutoCAD, and strong communication and mentoring skills to manage clients and project teams effectively, including experience with Common Data Environment and digital aspects/BIM applications.

Qualification :

Civil Engineering Graduate with a Post-Graduation degree (desirable) in Water Resources/Environmental Engineering
