What You’ll Do

Global Networks & Technology Energy and Environment commercialises cool new technologies for Telstra.

Your expertise will be essential in providing detailed technical consultancy and input, ensuring that our mobile sites are equipped to handle the demands of a leading network.

As you lead initiatives to address power and cooling resiliency requests, you will also take charge of updating and developing strategic network asset management plans that align with our long-term goals.

Additionally, your insights will play a critical role in resolving operations and maintenance issues, driving impactful programs of work that elevate our network performance to increase the resiliency of our network.

Within the Environment and Energy Group you will provide leadership to:

Enhance Telstra’s power and cooling standards for specific technologies and facility deployments, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.

Provide detailed planning and design for advanced power and cooling systems that enhance network performance.

Lead initiatives to enhance network resiliency by developing operational and strategic plans that address potential power and cooling disruptions.

Contribute to the production of strategic asset management plans that minimise power usage while ensuring continuous network resiliency.

Investigate emerging technologies to identify potential future requirements and innovations. Develop business cases to launch new technologies into the network.

Ensure seamless integration with alarming networks to optimise network reliability and responsiveness.

Ensure operational efficiency by implementing robust standards and holding key stakeholders accountable throughout program delivery.

Collaborate with stakeholders to assist in creating effective vendor management plans for the supply, deployment, and operation of equipment.

To be successful in the role, you'll bring skills and experience in the following:

A deep understanding of power and cooling technologies, including AC/DC power systems, batteries, backup power systems, generators, and sustainable technologies, with the ability to apply this knowledge to enhance network performance and resiliency.

Proven experience in asset management and developing and maintaining comprehensive network asset management plans, with a focus on minimising power usage while ensuring continuous network resiliency.

A detailed understanding of network maintenance and restoration processes

A forward-thinking approach to investigating and integrating emerging technologies, with the ability to develop compelling business cases that drive innovation within Telstra's network.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to build strong relationships and influence decision-making across all levels of the organisation.

Proven experience in peer leadership, with the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships at all levels.

A self-starter with excellent prioritisation skills, capable of managing your workload independently while knowing when to escalate issues.
