Located in Norway, the Marine Installation team consists of 35 highly competent and diverse members. Due to the unique engineering skills of our team, we are able to plan and execute marine and land cable installation projects anywhere in the world. We are able to overcome environmental constraints and client requirements with our unique engineering expertise. The workplace is in Oslo. This time our team is expanding, so we are looking for a new colleague.
GETTING A FLYING START
To succeed in the Marine Installation team, you need experience in the energy, maritime, marine, Oil&Gas, offshore or construction fields. You have worked in companies that are project driven, and have activities related to cable/pipe protection or seabed intervention, protection and survey. You have experience working domestically or internationally. Ideally your experience is related to interconnectors, windfarms, or power from shore. You will be comfortable with ensuring quality and safety during the projects. You have experience with taking charge and working on own initiative through your natural problem-solver mentality and leadership skills.
HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT
As an Engineer-Protection, your role will be crucial in ensuring the success of our marine protection projects. Here's how you can make a significant impact:
Planning and Design:
Develop technical solutions for the marine protection scope of work (SOW) and provide technical expertise during the planning and execution phases. Assist the Marine Lead Engineer in monitoring the schedule, cost, and resources for the main SOW. Perform a thorough contract review and gain a comprehensive understanding of the protection SOW, required equipment, and project milestones. Provide input on the protection aspect of the installation budget. Define technical specifications for subcontractor work during the planning phase.Cable Installation: Coordinate the utilization of equipment such as CAPJET and ploughs for jetting operations to create barriers for the cables. Oversee the deployment of subsea ploughs to create trenches for cable installation. Arrange for the installation of concrete mattresses to prepare and/or protect cable crossings. Provide offshore support during the installation phase. Maintain effective communication and follow up with subcontractors throughout the cable installation process.
Inspection and Verification: Utilize remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) to conduct inspections and verify the effectiveness of cable protection measures. Perform thorough inspections to ensure compliance with the project plan. Identify and address any potential issues or vulnerabilities in the cable protection system. Generate detailed reports on inspection findings and provide recommendations for necessary actions. Ensure that assessments of the protection requirements are conducted, evaluated for feasibility, and aligned with contract/client specifications.
