Senior Engineering Consultant - Missoula, MT

The Opportunity:

Tetra Tech is currently seeking a Senior Consultant with project management experience. The position location will be based out of Missoula, Montana. The Senior Consultant will provide project management and strategic team leadership to facilitate growth of our higher-end services civil engineering practice across Tetra Tech’s regional, national, and global footprint. The selected candidate will prepare successful business development strategies and lead in their execution. The successful candidate will demonstrate technical expertise in a wide variety of civil and environmental engineering pursuits and the ability to lead project teams in the execution of engineering services. This position may have hybrid working opportunities, but the candidate must reside within 50 miles of the local MT office.

Your Role:

Rapidly integrate yourself into and familiarize yourself with Tetra Tech’s current organizational structure to leverage Tetra Tech’s diverse service offerings. Provide senior leadership support to the Environmental Consulting Services (ECS) operating unit, other national and international teams within Tetra Tech. Leadership support includes a focus on business strategy, client engagement, opportunity identification and pursuit, operational support, expertise integration and partnering across Tetra Tech’s operating units, and team member mentoring. Be a key leader in the expansion/growth of Tetra Tech’s engineering practice regionally, nationally, and internationally. Work with project managers to perform comprehensive analysis of account potential, market share, and remaining winnable opportunities. Other activities will include RFP management, contract negotiation, and project implementation. Collaborate with Tetra Tech operational units worldwide and develop and implement growth strategies to increase profitability for a broad range of integrated services related to the civil engineering practice across strategically important market segments. Collaborate with the company's leadership team to develop strategic business pursuits to provide engineering services and cross operating unit services. Regularly bring forward key customer and market insights and proactively develop ideas for pilots and initiatives. Capitalize on industry relationships/expertise/professional network to maintain and establish new relationships and ensure they are managed for growth. Energize and inspire the team to feel highly supported by leadership and motivated to assertively compete every day for the business. Attract and assist in recruiting key talent who fit with Tetra Tech’s entrepreneurial culture and team approach.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field is required. 8+ years of technical and project managerial experience with water, wastewater, and general civil engineering services. Must have a solid understanding of the commercial market sector including market potential, competition, clients, forecasting, and capture strategy. Direct proven experience in cross selling services across accounts and diversifying the portfolio to drive profit potential and size of the accounts. Dynamic, self-starter with successful experience with program-level leadership, business development, and strategic planning. Demonstrated experience in managing project and group finances with strong profitability. Skilled in oral and written communication with demonstrated ability developing and delivering effective presentations to customers and management. A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required. Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions. 

 

Target salary range:  $90,000 to $105,000. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.
