Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Engineering and Sciences (E&S) organization is seeking a Senior Engineering Director 2. This position will be located in Linthicum, MD and will lead the Cross-Sector Engineering Team reporting to the Airborne Multifunction Sensors (AMS) E&S Vice President. As the Senior Engineering Director 2, this position will be responsible for leading a highly dynamic multi-discipline engineering team of approximately 1,000 employees.

Lead the technical roadmap strategy development
Ensure the business is appropriately staffed and enable resource sharing across multiple business areas
Lead strategic actions to improve the business of engineering
Drive engineering strategy and practice pertinent to all of the E&S AMS portfolio, including but not limited to investments, talent strategy
Growing the headcount with continued, strong focus on retention efforts, engagement initiatives, critical skills/critical needs, and diversity
Drive key talent development and workforce planning efforts
Enhance engineering rigor by implementing best practices and standards to ensure high-quality project deliverables.
Drive predictable financial and program results
Prioritize engineering investments aligned with strategic imperatives
Demonstrate thought leadership on digital transformation
Lead and inspire cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals
Develop and implement initiatives aligned with business objectives
Leverage technical expertise to guide projects and enhance team capabilities
Deliver clear and engaging presentations to diverse audiences
Facilitate discussions to build consensus and resolve conflicts effectively
Partner with leadership and functional teams to address challenges and develop timely solutions
This position is contingent upon the successful transfer of an active DoD Secret Clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience, a Master's degree with 10+ years of experience, or a PhD with 6 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineer, or Mathematics or other related technical fields
U.S Citizenship is required
A current/ active DoD Secret Clearance
10 years of professional experience in the defense or aerospace industries
5 years of experience managing technical teams
5 years of experience working in a technical role
Relevant experience in Software Engineering
Engineering experience in multiple program phases
Solid understanding of engineering process with execution experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or other related technical fields
Active DoD Top Secret Clearance or higher
Program management experience
Experience leading large functional organizations
Experience managing large control accounts
Experience with product line management
Experience creating and executing affordability initiatives
