In this role, you will manage a data engineering team responsible for our core data platform and act as the technical leader across our data ecosystem. You will work closely with Product, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to drive the success of our data initiatives and support our organization’s data strategy. As the Senior Engineering Manager for our Data Platform, you will be responsible for guiding and supporting product development, grooming initiatives, exploring new technologies, and managing budgeting efforts. This role requires a balance of strategic vision, technical expertise, and hands-on support to ensure our data infrastructure aligns with the business needs and scales as we continue to grow. What you’ll do Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing data engineering team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth. Act as the technical leader for our data platform, overseeing architectural decisions, promoting best practices, and ensuring data integrity, scalability, and security. Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and stakeholders to align the data platform's capabilities with business objectives and identify impactful data-driven opportunities. Drive Partner with Technical Product Managers on the planning and execution of data platform initiatives, including budgeting, resource allocation, and timeline management, to support strategic product goals. Conduct technical explorations and evaluations of new tools, technologies, and methodologies to keep our data platform innovative and adaptable. Build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT processes within our data ecosystem, optimizing data pipelines to ensure seamless data integration and accessibility. Establish and track performance metrics for data infrastructure, supporting the development of reliable, high-quality, and resilient data systems. Encourage cross-functional collaboration with engineering and business teams, fostering partnerships that enhance data accessibility, discovery, and insights across the organization. Who you are You are an experienced leader with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams. You excel at coaching, mentoring, and creating growth opportunities for your team members, helping them achieve their professional goals. You have a deep understanding of data engineering principles and experience overseeing complex data platforms, guiding technical direction, and maintaining high standards for data quality and reliability. You have a background working with Data Science and Artificial Intelligence functions deploying solutions that make a difference at an internal and external level. You possess strong communication and collaboration skills, allowing you to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including Product, Analytics, and other Engineering leaders, to drive alignment and achieve business goals. You are skilled at balancing technical rigor with business needs, translating complex data requirements into actionable initiatives that are scalable, secure, and strategically aligned with company objectives. You bring extensive experience in data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and are proficient in the Snowflake ecosystem. You are comfortable engaging in technical explorations and resource allocation to ensure initiatives are both impactful and feasible. You are a proactive problem solver who can navigate ambiguity and provide guidance to the team, ensuring the continuous improvement of our data infrastructure.
