Senior Engineering Manager - Delivery Marketplace
**About the Role** Consumer Pricing and Incentive team shapes consumer demand for Uber's Delivery business including online food delivery and groceries. Our systems power several hundred millions consumers and millions of merchants globally and continues to grow at a rapid pace. We are actively seeking individuals who excel in problem solving and critical thinking, are technical thought leaders in designing highly scalable systems, track record of managing a high performing team and proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. As a Senior Engineering Manager at Uber, you will be leading a group of engineers and engineering managers to build global solutions while closely collaborating with product managers, scientists, and other engineering teams. **What You Will Do** - Develop the vision and strategy to help set direction for the team while staying on top of team’s progress - Set clear expectations and create a positive work environment based on accountability and collaboration - Communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners to shape team’s roadmap - Promote the culture of continuous improvement, emphasizing code reviews, design reviews, and knowledge sharing within the team **Basic Qualifications** - An ability to architect and design robust, high-scale systems by challenging engineers to think bigger and more generically in developing their solutions - Influencing and cross-functional collaboration with PMs, designers, scientists, upstream business and infrastructure teams to identify, prioritize and solve problems - Proven ability to grow teams, recruit and retain strong engineering leaders as well as performance management - Ability to keep pace with a strong engineering culture focused on reliability while prioritizing value to business stakeholders **Preferred Qualifications** - 7+ years of engineering management experience, with demonstrated ability managing managers (4+ years) - Prior experience in pricing domain - Knowledge of machine learning and/or optimization - A background in product experimentation including the statistical knowledge, mechanics of experimentation and analysis so that you are able to interpret, debug and challenge experimental results when necessary For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$252,000 per year - USD$280,000 per year. For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$252,000 per year - USD$280,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
