About the Team:
The Finance Systems Group is a core part of HubSpot’s Fintech division, focused on enhancing the systems and processes that support HubSpot’s financial operations. By bringing together teams such as Revenue Calculation, Netsuite, Coupa, Reporting COE, and BSA COE, the group drives improvements in automation, process efficiency, and system reliability. Our mission is to empower the Finance team with the tools they need to make smart, data-driven decisions, enabling HubSpot to scale efficiently and sustainably.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the engineering function within the Finance Systems Group. This role will be responsible for guiding engineering teams as they deliver impactful, high-quality solutions that drive our financial systems and processes forward. As the Senior Engineering Manager, you will define and execute the technical strategy, collaborate closely with product management and design leaders, and develop a culture of excellence that fosters innovation and high-performance engineering.
This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of scalable systems, and the ability to motivate and grow talented engineering teams. You will focus on execution and delivery while ensuring that the solutions we build are scalable, reliable, and aligned with HubSpot’s business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivery: Lead your teams in executing fast-paced, high-impact projects while ensuring they have the resources and support needed to deliver efficiently. Leadership and Strategy: Develop and communicate a compelling technical vision and strategy that aligns with business objectives. Inspire and motivate engineering teams by setting clear goals and providing guidance on achieving them. Talent Development: Focus on attracting, developing, and retaining top engineering talent. Build and nurture a team culture that promotes continuous learning, collaboration, and high performance. Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with finance and system leaders to shape the product roadmap and ensure engineering efforts are aligned with business needs. Maintain strong communication with other teams to ensure cohesive collaboration across the organization. Technical Contributions: Provide hands-on technical leadership by offering guidance on system design and architecture. Ensure that the technical solutions implemented are of the highest quality and support the long-term vision of the group. Cross-Functional Partnership: Work with other engineering leaders to ensure efficient development processes and the proper infrastructure to support ongoing development efforts.Desired Qualifications:
Proven experience in leading engineering teams and building scalable systems, particularly in a SaaS or financial technology environment. Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire and drive alignment across teams. Hands-on experience in technical design and architecture, with a focus on delivering high-quality, reliable systems. A track record of building and growing high-performing engineering teams, with a focus on attracting and retaining top talent. A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work cross-functionally with product, design, and business teams to drive successful outcomes.Desired Attributes:

The cash compensation above includes base salary, on-target commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, some roles are eligible to participate in HubSpot’s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are based on a few different factors unique to each candidate, including their skills, experience, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
