As the Senior Engineering Project Team Leader on the NPI Quality team in Medium Tractor Products, you will be at the helm of guiding your team to success through motivating and developing the project team members, ensuring they have the skills and support needed to be successful. You will define project scope and coordinate resources across global teams; ensuring that everyone is aligned and working toward common goals.
What you will do:
Execute Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP): Lead APQP across all MTP New Product Introduction (NPI) programs, ensuring a quality launch by engaging a global team.Lead Product and Process Development (LPPD): Facilitate the LPPD Steering Team to drive actions and engagement, embedding LPPD practices within MTP and across Earthmoving.Collaborate Globally: Work daily with engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, and supply chain teams worldwide to drive Concurrent Product and Process Development (CPPD).Lead Defect-Free Operating System Planning and Execution: Lead a multi-disciplined technical team to plan and execute this system, assess readiness, and identify gaps as the NPI program progresses.Manage Metrics: Manage key metrics that predict a quality NPI launch, make them visible through a dashboard, and drive actions to achieve goals.Conduct NPI Quality Deep Dives: Facilitate deep dives with MTP leaders to recommend readiness at each NPI gate, and exercise stop-to-fix when necessary.Coach and Guide Team: Providing coaching on systems and tools used in NPI Quality, including APQP, PPAP, ETQ deviation, E1Ns, PRC, and QRQM carryover.

Sound knowledge of Caterpillar’s product development and NPI process.Knowledge of APQP processes and tools.Prior LPPD experience and knowledge.Experience with deep supplier collaboration.Medium Tractor product knowledge.Experience creating and maintaining dashboards with PowerBI.Experience with L6 management, creation, and coaching of DFMEAs in E1NsDemonstrated ability to facilitate a highly collaborative and inclusive team culture to work through difficult issues.Strong problem solving, planning and team leadership skills.A strong work ethic and good initiative, with demonstrated ability to work independently. Summary Pay Range:
$144,960.00 - $217,320.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
