Senior Enterprise Monitoring Engineer II
**Job Description** What it's like to work as a Senior Enterprise Monitoring Engineer at BAE Systems As a Senior Enterprise Monitoring Engineer at BAE Systems, you'll be part of a dynamic team that's responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our enterprise systems and applications. You'll have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge monitoring technologies, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive the implementation of new monitoring solutions. We are seeking an experienced and accomplished Senior Enterprise Monitoring Engineer to lead our monitoring strategy and implementation. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive monitoring infrastructure to ensure the availability, performance, and security of our enterprise systems and applications. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of monitoring technologies, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities: * Design and implement monitoring solutions using advanced tools and technologies, such as Nagios, SolarWinds, Splunk Enterprise, Application Performance Monitoring tools, and lead the implementation of new monitoring technologies. * Develop and maintain custom monitoring scripts and plugins to monitor complex systems and applications, and lead the development of new monitoring solutions. * Troubleshoot and resolve complex monitoring-related issues, including alert fatigue, false positives, and performance degradation, and lead the resolution of critical monitoring issues. * Collaborate with development teams to integrate monitoring solutions with new applications and services, and lead the implementation of monitoring solutions in agile development environments. * Conduct regular monitoring system checks and maintenance tasks, including backups, upgrades, and patches, and lead the maintenance of monitoring infrastructure. * Analyze monitoring data to identify trends, anomalies, and potential issues, and provide strategic recommendations for improvement. * Develop and maintain documentation for monitoring procedures, configurations, and best practices, and lead the development of monitoring standards and guidelines. * Participate in on-call rotation and provide 24/7 support for critical monitoring issues, and lead the response to critical monitoring incidents. Requirements: * Deep understanding of monitoring technologies, including Nagios, SolarWinds, Splunk Enterprise, and Application Performance Monitoring tools. * Strong customer-focused acumen and skillsets, with experience leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with stakeholders. * Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with experience leading the resolution of complex monitoring issues. * Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience leading the implementation of monitoring solutions in agile development environments. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
