Senior Enterprise Risk Management Specialist (ERM, Hybrid)

Your Moneris Career - The Opportunity

You will develop, implement, and maintain Moneris’ enterprise risk management program including frameworks, policies, standards, procedures, risk assessment tools and techniques for different aspects of an enterprise risk management program including management of third-party risks. You will support risk identification, risk assessment and risk mitigation processes, and monitors and reports enterprise risks periodically across the company and to Senior Management.

Location: You will be based in our Toronto or Montreal office and will work in a hybrid model.

Reporting Relationship: You will report to the Chief Legal and Risk Officer.

Your Moneris Career - What you'll do

Support the development, implementation and management of Moneris’ Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program including the frameworks, policies, standards, procedures, risk assessments including third-party risk management processes, and guidelines, all in an agile manner to meet changing requirements.

Support the “Three Lines of Defense” model by maintaining dialogue across all channels and undertaking periodic discussions on key system and process controls, to manage risks from the ongoing changes within the environment.

Support the implementation and management of the Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) system and support the functional administrator for the risk management modules of the GRC system.

Support the documentation, compliance and periodic reviews of corporate policies and standards.

Create additional linkages between ERM risks and related policies by implementing processes for documenting exceptions to policies and standards, and ensuring that exceptions are approved, tracked and closed appropriately.

Contribute to risk governance oversight by taking an active role in proposing matters for discussion and escalation.

Lead Risks and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) workshops with business teams to ensure that key risks are identified, analyzed, evaluated, documented in a standardized manner, and vetted with risk and control owners.

Conduct periodic review and enhancements of Key Risk Indicators (KRI) for enterprise risks and support reporting of KRIs to the Board and Enterprise Risk Management Executive Steering Committee.

Monitor risk levels, initiate partner dialogue, offer constructive challenge, and help manage risks within appetite.

Create risk management training programs.

Monitor new risks and assist the crisis management committees/meetings.

Perform other duties, as required.

Your Moneris Career - What you bring

University degree.

5+ years in enterprise risk management programs, knowledge of controls and risk self-assessments, root cause analyses, operational risks, financial risks, IT risks, etc.

Knowledge and/or Implementation of a risk management framework (ISO 31000, COSO, other)

Implementation/Management/Operation of a GRC/ERM application an asset.

Strong analytical thinking and communication skills including the ability to research and understand complex processes and communicate them to senior management and provide effective risk reporting across Moneris.

Good partner and relationship management skills.

Self-starter with the ability to deliver under pressure.

Work collaboratively and steer conversations based on framework and policies to provide constructive challenge to the business to help the risk owners manage risks within appetite.

Perform process analysis, process mapping and experience designing controls to help mitigate risks.
