Location: St Neots (Office) + Cambridge & Stansted (Project Sites)

Laing O'Rourke is looking for a Senior Environment Advisor to support two exciting new projects in Cambridge and Stansted. This is a dynamic, roving role, working across our St Neots office and project sites to provide expert environmental guidance and support to our delivery teams.

Your initial projects: You'll join at a pivotal stage, with both projects in their pre-construction phase, giving you the opportunity to influence and contribute to their sustainability strategies from the outset. In Cambridge, you will be helping deliver the new Cambridge Cancer Research Hospital – a cutting-edge facility designed to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating, and in Stansted you will be contributing to a major development project of one of the UK's busiest airports.

As a Senior Environment Advisor, you will:
✔ Drive sustainability initiatives to support our journey towards becoming a net zero company.
✔ Ensure compliance with contractual, client, and ISO14001 environmental management system (EMS) requirements.
✔ Identify and manage environmental risks and opportunities at both pre-construction and delivery stages.
✔ Engage with statutory bodies to obtain necessary environmental consents.
✔ Provide training and guidance on environmental best practices.
✔ Develop and maintain Construction Environmental Management Plans, identifying relevant risks and opportunities and associated mitigation measures.  
✔ Monitor, report, and improve environmental performance through inspections and audits.
✔ Lead environmental incident investigations and drive corrective actions.
✔ Promote initiatives focused on carbon reduction, waste minimisation, and biodiversity protection.
