About the job:
Kent is looking for a Senior Environment Engineer who will be responsible for coordinating the production of environmental deliverables and providing progress reporting for a project in accordance with the project plan. Typically, a Senior Environmental engineer reports to the lead engineer on a feasibility, concept, FEED, detailed design, or EPC project. Undertakes specified tasks/areas of work dependent on the size and complexity of the project, as defined by the lead engineer or project/project engineering manager. Responsible for communicating technical / project issues potentially impacting the project to the lead engineer. The Senior Environmental Engineer is typically accountable to the discipline Lead Engineer and/or Project Engineering Manager, depending on the size and complexity of the Project. The corporate reporting line is to the respective Departmental / Group Manager. We operate a hybrid working model with 3 days in the office and 2 days home working, for our team to develop an effective team dynamic within Engineering.
Skills & Responsibilities:
Leading environmental engineering concept/FEED and Detail design projects.Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and regulatory agencies.Budgeting and resource allocation for environmental projects.Support proposal engineer in manpower and schedule planning for proposals.Ensuring projects adhere to environmental laws and regulations Preparing and submitting environmental reports and permitsConducting environmental impact assessments (EIA) and audits.Undertakes specific tasks / area of work as defined by the lead / principal engineer.Supports the preparation of the Environmental TDR and executes allocated tasks within the requirements of the project execution plan and TDR.Ensures compliance with Kent’s ISO accredited QMS, and project specific procedures, guides and standards.In consultation with Process group manager takes responsibility for identifying own development needs and ensuring that agreed development goals are met taking due cognisance of project commitments.Responsible for personal training and development in consultation with Process group manager.Prepare/ review EIA scoping reportPrepare/Review Environmental management philosophiesPrepare/Review Noise report using sound plan softwareCarry out flare radiation study using flaresimPrepare GHG reportPrepare environment legal register applicable to the projectPrepare Waste management plansCarry out environmental pollutants dispersion and prepare the reportFacilitate ENVID workshopPrepare environmental aspect impact reportCarry out BAT assessment according to local and BREF guidelinesIdentify the emission limits to air, land and water bodies as per local regulationsPermits and clearances that need to be obtained (e.g. permit for incineration of waste, landfilling of waste, disposal of sludge etcBunding requirements, handling/storage area requirements etc.Identify the limits for STP effluent Determine Stack HeightsOrganize and participate in the ENVID and other environmental risk workshopsReview of EIA study offers from consultants and provide technical recommendation for selection of competent EIA consultant for the projectDevelop Environmental Design Basis for the FacilityDevelop Noise Philosophy for the FacilityDevelop Emissions Inventory for the FacilityIn addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
Relevant postgraduate qualification in Environmental Engineering .Chartered status preferred.Experience of working for engineering / client organisations in the oil and gas, new energies, CCUS, hydrogen industry.Exposure to consultancy, FEED / detailed design and EPC projects.Excellent working knowledge of relevant environmental legislation and regulations.Technical competence in core Environmental Engineering subject areas, such as Emissions Quantification, Dispersion Modelling, Best Available Technology (BAT) Analysis, Risk Assessments, Working knowledge of applicable international standardsCommunication:
