Job Summary

Langan is seeking a Senior Environmental Chemist to join its collaborative team in New York City.  This individual will serve a key function in conducting engineering research and analysis, as well as complex analyses of broader engineering and environmental projects.  In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse team of top-notch professionals in a variety of geographic areas and regulatory programs, and to collaborate and learn from our multi-disciplinary team of site/civil, geotechnical, survey, and landscape architect professionals on landmark land development projects. We support lifelong learning, career progression, and engagement in outside professional organizations.

Job Responsibilities Review and validation of environmental laboratory data; Write data validation reports and prepare tables with results for project teams; Provide technical support to field sampling teams and act as a liaison between the project team, analytical laboratory, and data management team; Occasionally travel with the project team to sites to collect environmental samples; and Perform other duties as requested. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry; 3+ years of work-related experience; Experience in performing environmental sample extraction and analysis; Experience in validation of laboratory data produced under USEPA CERCLA and RCRA programs (SW-846 methodology, EPA 200, 500, and 600 series methods, CLP Inorganic/Organic SOW) a plus; Prior internship or professional experience within an environmental consulting firm or environmental lab a plus; Knowledge of state regulations, a plus; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities; Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; and Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver’s license in good standing.

Base Salary Range: $87,500 - $103,000. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. This position is also eligible for straight-time overtime and participation in the firm's annual bonus and performance review program. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm.
