**Your Opportunity**
We are searching for a superior candidate with over 10 years of environmental regulatory, CEQA and NEPA environmental review process, and permitting experience in the greater San Francisco Bay Area and northern California region. Joining Stantec’s North American network of over 3,000 environmental services professionals, in over 200 office locations in the US, you will be given the opportunity to maximize your strengths and interests in strategic consulting, business development, technical consulting and project management of environmental planning, permitting and compliance projects.
**Your Key Responsibilities**
Technical Consulting
+ Project management, task management, environmental planning, and/or technical delivery of environmental services such as due diligence studies, discretionary environmental permitting, State and federal acts, regulatory compliance services. Experience with renewable energy and coastal California permitting is preferred.
+ Bring project schedules, budgets, and scopes of work to successful completion in a Project Manager or Task Manager role.
+ Manage client services to increase opportunities to receive follow on work with quality technical work products, routine correspondence/meetings, opportunity capitalization, negotiation of contract agreement terms.
+ Manage multi-discipline programs, develop effective and efficient work-flow processes, including preparation of CEQA and NEPA documents for a variety of projects California.
+ Lead the preparation of technical reports, plans, and permit applications in collaboration with a team.
+ Coordinate with Stantec, subcontractor, and client staff to ensure surveys and monitoring are conducted according to client guidance and all safety requirements.
+ Support business development through the building professional relationships, preparation of responses to proposal solicitations and participation in outreach efforts.
+ This position requires attention to details, critical thinking skills, strong skills as a self-starter, and an ability to participate in multiple projects simultaneously, and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Leadership
+ Help develop and mentor a team of high performers through coaching and training staff to expand understanding of technical reports, environmental permitting, and project delivery/management.
+ Identify opportunities for junior and mid-level staff that complement their professional development (e.g., participating in “ride-along” client development or presentation activities).
+ Support and participate in Stantec’s Safer Together culture, prioritizing the health and safety of our employees.
+ Demonstrate a commitment to our code of business conduct and ethics policies.
Client Development
+ Provide technical expertise and guidance to support business development opportunities including the development and implementation of “win” strategies, including client contact, proposal preparation, and preparation of and participation in client interviews.
+ Build and maintain productive relationships across all stakeholder groups including regulators.
+ Create and maintain relationships across Stantec’s practices and geographies to promote cross-selling of services.
**Qualifications**
**Your Capabilities and Credentials**
+ Ability to plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of large, multi-discipline projects and programs, medium-sized projects with a high degree of technical complexity, and small projects with minimal environmental constraints.
+ An entrepreneurial orientation with strong understanding of the business development challenges of a consulting services provider.
+ A leader and mentor who can apply their skills to complex problems.
+ Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
+ Prior to employment, this position could require the successful completion of a pre-employment physical and/or drug & alcohol screening.
Working Conditions
+ Ability to travel that will fluctuate with project needs.
+ Time management allocation to include a blend of direct time on projects and other related tasks.
**Education and Experience**
+ A minimum of 10 years of successfully managing an environmental services program
+ Experience leading the development and acquisition of major resource related permits from federal and/or State agencies; agency examples include: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (sections 404 and 10), U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, CA State Lands Commission and/or CA Department of Fish and Wildlife. California Coastal experience (e.g.,
+ California Coastal Commission, Bay Conservation and Development Commission, etc.)
+ Experience producing environmental impact assessments under CEQA, NEPA, or an equivalent.
+ A bachelor’s degree in environmental planning, environmental science, engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

**Salary Range(s):**
* SF Area $123,700 - SF Area $185,600 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CA (SF Area includes SF, SJS & WLC)
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
