We are looking for an Environmental Project Manager with a minimum of 8 years of experience in environmental site assessment and remediation. The successful candidate should be able to take projects from initial assessment and characterization, through remediation and closure, acting as the technical, management and client lead. At a minimum must have a familiarity with assessment and remediation of sites impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents, metals and PCBs. The successful candidate will have direct experience in proposal preparation, cost estimating, sub-contractor management, cost/budget tracking and acting as primary regulatory liaison. Professional registration in the state of California and solid waste site experience preferred. The pay scale for this position is 150K-175K annually, based on qualifications and experience.
Your Role:
Preparation of cost proposals, business development and contract negotiations. Negotiate subcontractor agreements and oversee subcontractor performance (laboratories, geophysical subs, drilling subs, traffic control, etc.) Preparation of work plans, health & safety plans, quality assurance/quality control project plans, data quality objectives, conceptual site models, UST Removals, remedial action plans, etc. As needed, perform field work involving sampling of soil/soil gas/groundwater, site assessments and remediation. Project management, including invoicing, budget and schedule tracking. Oversight/management of environmental site assessments (Phase I & II ESAs) and remediation projects. Act as primary regulatory liaison and experience with Geotracker & EnviroStor. Act as primary client contact. Direct, mentor and supervise staff level team members.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) or Master’s Degree (M.S.) in Civil/Environmental/Chemical Engineering/Geology or a related area. Minimum 8 years direct experience in performance of site investigations involving impacts to soil, soil-gas, indoor air quality and groundwater (10+ years preferred). Minimum of 8 years direct experience in developing and implementing environmental site remediation programs (10+ years preferred). Proven performance overseeing and directing staff and outside subcontractors in the performance of work. Proven performance preparing technical reports and documents. Experience with local, city, county and federal permitting requirements, hazardous materials characterization and disposal. Proven performance managing complex projects including budget and schedule control. OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour trained (8-hour supervisor training preferred). Professional registration in the State of California preferred. Experience working at solid waste disposal sites preferred.
