Senior Equipment Programming Technician

 

SENIOR EQUIPMENT PROGRAMMING TECHNICIAN (PLANT TECHNOLOGY) – AUSTIN PLANT (AUSTIN, MN)

The work schedule for this position is Monday - Friday 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Overtime is probable. Some weekend work is required. Some work on second and/or third shift is required.  Flex time is limited.

Relocation will be considered for this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Uses small hand tools, electronic measurement equipment (such as a multi-meter) in an industrial environment to analyze and repair electrical circuitry. Troubleshoots and/or repairs non-functioning data collection equipment, to include software and hardware issues related to displays and scanners on both mobile and stationary setups. Initial troubleshooting and/or repairs of both wired and wireless networks. Performs initial equipment setup for new or returning equipment. Manage the data collection equipment inventory whether in use in production areas, spare parts, or repair state. Accurately record the receiving and billing of all outside plant location repairs through RMA (Return Material Authorization) process. Helping diagnose routine hardware and software repairs. Will work closely with Supervisor of Plant Technology to increase the support level on Plant Technology related hardware and software concerns.          

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

Minimum of a 2-year degree in engineering technology or electronics technology and/or 4 years of equivalent work experience in these related fields. A solid background in computer electronics including both hardware and Windows/Android operating system is important. A solid understanding of computer networks and components, including Ethernet, wireless and TCP/IP. Ability to work in a production and mechanical shop environment.  This may include some extended periods of time on your feet, as well as extended periods of time in temperatures ranging anywhere from 20 - 90°F. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and follow-through. Regularly lifts 20-30 lbs. and may, on occasion, be required to lift up to 50 lbs.  Any lifting over 50 lbs. will be done with assistance.

Preferred

Experience working with shop floor data collection systems and warehouse management systems.

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range.  The base hiring pay range for this role is between $31.50 - $44.10 per hour, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
