Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a  Sr. Equipment Specialist to support the Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) which is within the USAF Digital Directorate and located at Hanscom AFB, Bedford, MA.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

All applicants must be U.S. Citizen and have an active US security clearance Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 5 years of which must be in the DoD OR 15 years of directly related experience, 8 years of which must be in the DoD.Comfortable working in a dynamic team environment meeting end users’ requirement.Must be detail-oriented and have excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.Possess the ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal forms on highly technical topics 

 

Duties include, but not limited to: 

Review and recommend changes to program-unique specifications to include system specifications, development specifications, and product specifications for both hardware and software, for proper format, content, and compliance with program requirements and standardsProvide technical support and analysis on field, depot and modification program issuesApply Agile and/or Waterfall development methodologies to both hardware and software projectsProvide technical maintenance and TO support to users; regularly by telephone, email, and local meetings or irregularly by direct field-supportPrepare or assist with preparation of Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTOs) to support configuration changes and inspectionsAssist and execute the sustainment of the Electronic Technical Management System (ETIMS)Perform or assist in performing technical order (TO) validation/verification (Val/Ver)Develop Work Unit Codes and populate the Reliability and Maintainability Information System (REMIS)Provide input to the Technical Order Life Cycle Management Plan (TOLCMP)Support execution of Configuration Control Boards (CCB) and Engineering Review Board (ERB) directives by partnering with the Technical Content Managers to manage the publication and distribution of TO changesSupport Engineering Plans and Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E) baselines by evaluating configuration management tasks such as Discrepancy Reports (DRs), AFTO 22, AFTO 252, and performance metricsAssist with the development of technical drawing packages (TDP), system-specific and standard, in support of configuration managementSupport the configuration control function to include receipt, dissemination, processing, tracking, and providing recommendations for the final disposition of all baseline technical artifactsReview change proposal management impacts, and compliance with Government requirements; provide recommendations for Government review and disposition; assist in the preparation and conduct of CCB and related subordinate boards; and assist in maintaining change proposal files and providing historical informationAttend and support Functional Configuration Audits (FCA), Physical Configuration Audits (PCA), and Compliance Audits (CAs), to include auditing hardware and software Configuration Items (CIs), disposition and tracking of action items and assist with preparation of the minutesAssist with technical interchange meetings and the preparation of minutes from the meetingsMonitor modification parts listings to identify items not loaded in the National Stock Number (NSN) systemProcess non-stock listed items into the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) system.Monitor and process parts lists utilized under contractor logistics support for provisioning and configuration management planning and documentationAccess system data within various sources/tools such as Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS) to assist in the development of OSS&E reporting data and documentationMaintain Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) inventory lists to include physical inventoriesProvide Product Lifecycle Management assistance through technical documentation to mitigate Mission Impaired Capability Awaiting Parts (MICAP) status
