Professionally accountable for estates maintenance and for the strategic development of the estates operational service.
To provide the full range of building works and estates services, maintaining efficiently, engineering and building services/installations ensuring that the service is carried out safely, in accordance with statutory requirements, economically within defined budgets and to agreed standards, in a large acute hospitals and other healthcare premises.
Responsibility for ensuring that Alder Hey Children's Hospital engineering and building are safe for patients, visitors and staff.
Provides expert specialist and professional building and engineering advice to other Mitie and Trust staff, directors and senior management.
Professionally and technically responsible for estates policy development and implementation of legislative requirements
To be technically and managerially responsible for Engineering and Building Managers and to provide all aspects of estates management
Main Duties
· Management of an Estates Team who in turn will manage a 24/7 engineering and building provision, providing strategic staff guidance and management.
· Owning and managing the engineering and building processes on site, ensuring a high level of service and that works re done in line with KPI's and SLA's.
· Analysis of KPI's to identify improvements.
· Strategic management of the team, driving team culture as well as improvements of results and advancement of the estates.
· Working towards net zero targets, actively identifying opportunities to operate in a more energy efficient manner to reduce carbon footprints and make the estate greener in its function.
· Working closely with HTM's and HBNs to understand the depths of the contract and ensure technical compliance on the site-specific assets (including Fire Doors, Windows, HV/LV, UPS, CHP, ventilation, water, pressure systems, heating, chilling and refrigeration).
· Attend high level meetings within the business and with the client.
· Working alongside the SHEQ Manager to make sure all technical and hard services actions are completed in line H+S guidelines.
· Working alongside the contract compliance lead to make sure KPI reporting is accurate and in line with the contract.
What we are looking for· Mechanical or electrical background (time served)
· Experience working in a healthcare environment with a strong knowledge of HTM's and HBNs.
· PFI experience highly advantageous or experience of complex contracts/KPI's.
· Good people management skills.
