Gilbane is seeking a Sr. Estimating Manager to lead the administration and execution of all estimating activities, processes, and deliverables for the Business Unit (BU).

Responsibilities Administrates and executes all estimating activities, processes, and deliverables for the Business Unit (BU)Engages in estimating peer groups and communication with chief estimator peers across the enterprise on process improvements and resource sharingPossesses and utilizes industry contacts with subcontractors, designers, and owners to advance BU market strategyUtilizes market relationships and resources to collect and utilize market cost and supply chain information; engages with our supply chain team to provide regular input as requested for the quarterly surveysIdentifies and mitigates project costing risks throughout the design phase of the project including building appropriate contingency and allowance strategies on all projectsSchedules department estimating and deliverables while balancing workload accordinglyManages the department to ensure multiple duties and responsibilities are executed by all staff members; Communicates with operations staff to plan work schedulesIdentifies and communicates risks and outcomes affecting the BULeads the BU strategic planning process relating to estimatingManages workload and performance of direct reports, ensuring alignment with overall company standardsInforms the BU leader of risks, activities, progress, and problems as it pertains to estimating activitiesResponsible for the career development and coaching of team membersFosters a positive and inclusive work environment to motivate and engage team membersInterprets and translates the organizational strategy, ensuring team understanding of their role in accomplishing strategic goalsMay be required to assist with tasks typically assigned to more junior positions QualificationsEXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management15-20+ years relevant estimating experienceOr equivalent combination of education and experienceKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to lead BU estimating departmentCollaborative and able to reconcile estimating assumptions with designers and ownersAbility to lead the estimating process and deliverable for projects throughout the design phaseStrong presenter with estimating deliverables (internally and externally); participates in interviews during the pursuit phaseAbility to conceptually estimate projects with limited informationAbility to estimate multiple facility types such as residential high rise, healthcare, interiors, and institutionalAbility to estimate within multiple delivery methodsAbility to maintain strong working relationships with industry partners (owners, designers, subcontractors, etc.) for the development of estimating deliverablesResearches and maintains market trends (material, equipment, lead times) relating to estimating effortsServes as market ambassador of the Gilbane Brand
Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.
