We are seeking someone who is passionate about estimating and enjoys all that's required. The successful Sr Estimator is someone with a great attitude and relationship focus, and the ability to work in cohesion with the entire operations team.

 

Responsibilities include: 

Work in partnership with the operations team members to plan the job prior to project initiation including general conditions study, procurement schedule, logistics, etc.Develop a comprehensive understanding of project strategy and deploy this throughout the estimating processComplete knowledge of the estimating documents and the ability to provide accurate qualitative and quantitative analysis of the documentsAbility to prepare GMP’s and present Budget Development process from Concept, SD, DD to CD.Must have conceptual ability to work with minimum information and quickly develop an understanding of the owner/architect requirements.Review and understand all bid documents and assess project risksEstablish the pre-construction budget and manage the associated fundsAbility to prepare comprehensive bid packages and distribute to tradesCoordinate with SDC Self Perform Division for revenue opportunitiesEnsures that the best bids are obtained for each trade, based on the needs of the projectStructure a fair and comprehensive final sub bid process by incorporating all information from previous budgets, by educating all subs on the Shawmut view of the project, including, but not limited to detailed written scope of work, logistics, etc., so that they are all bidding on the same workReview & Level quotes and estimates with Project Team and prepare recommendationsDevelop meaningful project specific VE Strategies Present information and proposals effectively to clients based on their needs and preferences, ensuring customer satisfactionMust have the ability to be deadline focused in order to time manage several activities / projects Identify escalation factors in marketplace for specific materials and labor ratesGood leadership, strong team communication both written and verbal Qualifications 7 to 10+ years’ estimating experienceExpertise in Core & Shell & Base Building EstimatingExperience should include large Commercial, Healthcare, and Institutional projectsExperience with Open Shop, Non-Union and Union Pricing having established subcontractor relationshipsExperienced in estimating all trades including Civil / Structural & MEP Experienced in Conceptual Estimating & Budgeting Self-Starter with the ability to work individually & as part of a teamVast knowledge of all trades: scope, time frames/field execution, typical missed scope/exposuresSolid conceptual estimating experienceStrong computer skills and knowledge of On Screen Take Off, Timberline (Precision Estimating) experience is a plus

 

Base Salary Range: $130,000 - $224,000

The range stated is specific to Los Angeles. Placement within the listed range depends on many factors including, but not limited to, years of experience, project size capability (for Con & Field roles), and internal company equity.

 

Eligible candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship or restriction, now and in the future.
