Senior Estimator

System One is hiring a Senior Estimator to support our customer in Bellevue, Washington.

Onsite position 
Duration: 1 year with opportunity to extend. 

The position of Senior Estimator will be responsible for the development of highly complex project cost estimates for our advance nuclear reactors and nuclear technology projects.  Additionally, the Senior Estimator will have the responsibility for the development and implementation of a formal cost estimating process, the rollout of cost estimating tools and standards that will align with the Project Management Office (PMO) requirements. This position will report to the Manager of Project Controls and will work closely with project management, project controls, and the centralized engineering organization, as well as other internal organizations and partners.
 
Responsibilities: Develop complex project cost estimates using formal methodologies and various cost estimating techniques. Gather accurate and current pricing from databases, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors for use in cost estimates. Perform cost estimate data analysis, incorporating project team inputs and trend projections to update Estimate to Complete (ETC) and Estimate at Completion (EAC) costs. Conduct cost risk analyses, identifying high-risk factors and recommending solutions to ensure project success. Implement a standardized cost estimating process aligned with cost estimate review and approval board requirements. Create estimating guides and procedures, providing specialized support for complex estimating challenges. Assist in preparing and presenting project control reports and periodic performance deliverables. Support project change requests and review other cost estimating deliverables. Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

Education: Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field. Experience: 10+ years in cost estimating for nuclear power generation, DOE projects, or large EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) projects. Industry Standards Knowledge: AACEI Recommended Practices RP 17R-97 and RP 18R-97 (Cost Estimate Classification System). DOE G 413.3-21 and GAO Cost Estimating and Assessment Guide (GAO-09-3SP).
Technical Proficiency: Experience with cost estimating software and historical cost databases. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio). Skills & Abilities: Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to work cross-functionally and build effective working relationships. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Demonstrated integrity, teamwork, and respect in professional environments.
