As a Senior Estimator, you will supervise a team of Estimators in an effort to price and bid multiple projects. You will work under an experienced professional that will provide you with opportunity to learn the department’s standard operating procedures and build strong relationships with the Preconstruction team. You will have a heavy hand in the coordination and supervision of other Estimators and will price/bid projects that shape your community. Responsibilities Review and understand all project plans, requirements and specificationsCoordinate and supervise a team of estimators to develop large, multi-disciplinary estimates.Determine labor and equipment costsReview and understand all bid documents and assess project risksUnderstand project logistics and project schedulePrepare bid packages and compare and analyze competitive subcontract and supplier bidsReview quotes and estimates with Project Team and prepare recommendationsInterface with clients, ensuring customer satisfactionAccurately develop cost modelsTrack and report on current material and labor prices, including escalationDevelop meaningful VE contributions to reduce priceReconcile quantity surveys with consultants and design teamIdentify escalation factors in marketplace for specific materials and labor ratesResponsible for sound conceptual pricing assumptions with sound documentation for the basis of the estimateAbility to substantiate all aspects of final estimates QualificationsEXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management10+ years relevant experienceOr equivalent combination of education and experienceKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to lead the estimating process and deliverable for projects throughout the design phaseExtensive knowledge of On-Screen Take-off, Destini, and Site work software tools for take-offsAbility to present estimating deliverables (internally and externally) and participates in interviews during the pursuit phaseAbility to conceptually estimate projects with limited informationAbility to estimate multiple facility types such as residential high rise, healthcare, interiors and institutionalAbility to estimate within multiple delivery methodsAbility to maintain healthy working relationships with industry partners (Owners, designers, subcontractors, etc.) for the development of estimating deliverablesSalary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
For New York, NY this ranges from $180,000.00 - $200,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
