Job DescriptionThe McDonalds Global Experience Design team is a key part of the Customer Experience team (MCX), which provides user-centered experiences that deliver a cohesive and meaningful experience for customers and restaurant team members around the world. We are seeking an emerging design leader to join our Experience Design team on the Design Systems team.
The position requires demonstrable expertise in building, maintaining, and innovating for a global, multi-channel design system. McDonald’s is taking our current design system from good to great, and the Sr. XD Lead will play a large role in setting the strategy for the future of the design system at McDonald’s. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with ambiguity, passionate about design, and able to take initiative with minimal direction.
Responsibilities:

Ensure there is fierce customer focus throughout the entire product lifecycle process.Your design solutions are user-centric while also meeting business goals.Drive the evolution of the design system by researching and implementing best practices, considering market analysis, customer feedback, metrics, and usability findings.Partner closely with product management and engineering teams to drive innovation and efficiency.Lead the design system team in crafting and maintaining a comprehensive design language and component library.Define and implement design standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure a cohesive user experience across all products and platforms.Actively drive the design review cycle and close on design requirements.Effectively lead collaboration across teams; not just gathering business requirements but support in defining them.Advocate for the value of the design system across the organization, promoting its benefits in terms of efficiency, consistency, and user experience quality.Have experience applying Accessibility best practices (WCAG)Qualifications8 years of experience in user centered experience design, with a focus on design systems.Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing a team of designers.You have a strong portfolio that demonstrates creative design thinking with a deep understanding of Human Centered Design and design systems.You understand and can speak to the importance of having familiarity with technical considerations needed across the various platforms we’re designing for.You have excellent communication, presentation, and persuasion skills.
