Senior Facilities Engineering Manager

Position Summary:                    

This position leads a team of technical personnel and is responsible for GFMS Department, Engineering execution. This position reports to APJ GFMS Leadership.

This role is responsible for the functions of Facilities Engineering for APJ region and has overall responsibilities of the Illumina APJ Facilities Engineering requirements and standards for GMP manufacturing spaces and labs, infrastructure, and critical utilities

Position Responsibilities:

Strategize structure to ensure Engineering team is operating at scalability and its highest efficiencyAdvanced in-depth technical knowledge in Facilities System such as ACMV, HVAC, Mechanical and Electrical System is required. System includes Compressed Dry Air, Nitrogen, Clean Room, Chilled Water, Waste Treatment etcAdvanced knowledge of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Facilities Building Management System such as Johnson Control Metasys and Siemens Desigo CCPossesses the skills and aptitude to manage the technical and non-technical sides of Facilities. Has the cross-functional skills to successfully collaborate with all stakeholders at Regional/Global levelProficient in risk and constraint mitigation, ability to evaluate end-to-end constraints and a knowledge base that can provide creative and systematic solutionsManagement of Energy and Water Compliance for the CompanyFocus on regional and/or global policy, efficiency and management of change. Active influencer of initiativesHandle complex situations by considering inter-relationships and dependencies.Forecasts savings for area of responsibility - highlighting level of certainty / stretch if appropriateAbility to understand new industry trends, adopt new technology and integrates into existing designsUnderstanding and embracing latest technology to digitalize Engineering requirements and processesContinuous progression on Engineering design standardsDrive all Engineering initiatives, projects and complex issues resolution across all boardsSupport turnkey and infrastructure projects on Engineering specification and requirementKey lead in all Engineering strategies, initiatives and alignmentTranslate strategy to support business plans. Preferred Requirements:

Strong Engineering background and working experience, preferably in Biotech, Pharmaceutical or Semiconductor facilities environmentExperience in managing an experienced and diverse Engineering teamDemonstrate self-initiative, big picture and strategic thinking processDemonstrate advanced level of familiarity with Engineering guidelines and industry standardsSCEM (Singapore Certified Energy Management) Certification is advantageousProven records and experience in leading Engineering related initiatives and projectsAbility to negotiate, influence and resolve conflicts to deliver win-win outcomesAbility to work independently with all levelsCommitted, great team player and strong leaderGood presentation skill for “story narration” and ability to communicate effectively and professionally with senior managementProficiency with various software applications programs including SAP, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point etc.International travel required when necessary

Preferred Experience/Education:

Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of related experience, with 3-6 years of Management experience or equivalent experience.
