Senior Facilities Systems Technician (HVAC), INSCOM (TESA)

Under the United States (U.S.) Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) Global Intelligence Logistics and Engineering (GILE) program, Team V2X will provide: global multi-disciplined engineering; facilities; sustainment and maintenance of non-standard (non-Program of Record) and Program of Record intelligence systems to include the integration of new intelligence technologies and capabilities; Portal management; hardware design and integration; network management; technology development and application; and supply chain / logistics support to INSCOM, U.S. Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER), Army Intelligence, Joint Forces, Combatant Commands, and the Intelligence Community (IC). Team V2X will enable INSCOM’s mission of anticipating requirements and employing innovative techniques to equip and sustain Soldiers, Civilians, systems, and facilities. As a dedicated partner to INSCOM G4, Team V2X is committed to enhancing readiness as part of Combined, Joint, and IC interdependent teams supporting tactical, operational, and strategic intelligence units, personnel, ground and aerial intelligence equipment, operation facilities, and infrastructure from multiple CONUS and OCONUS locations. This position is contingent upon successful contract award to V2X. #clearance Responsibilities Perform inspections on HVAC systems and components (e.g. heating units, building exhaust fans, ventilation units, etc.) to evaluate condition, identify necessary repairs and recommend or perform preventive maintenance. Clean, lubricate, and repack working parts of the system. Track performance of routine and preventative maintenance to ensure availability of HVAC systems. Troubleshoot HVAC/R systems with complex problems and extensive repairs requirements; utilize sound judgement to locate and remedy malfunctions. Respond to service calls and preventive maintenance inspections and produce reports in via computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) regarding malfunctioning / inoperable equipment. Respond to emergencies during and after hours to resolve issues, diagnose cause of problems and/or failures in HVAC systems, for the purpose of identifying equipment, systems repair and/or replacement needs. Install, repair, and maintain large commercial and industrial ventilation, refrigeration, air conditioning (AC) and cooling systems with complex / extensive repairs needs. Independently perform recurring work on exhaust fans, boilers, air handlers, pump, motors, air dryers and other related HVAC equipment; but not limited to HVAC control and monitoring systems. Install, modify, overhaul, repair, and maintain a variety of complex HVAC air conditioning, air handlers, pumps, and motors, valves, heating systems, and associated auxiliary and control equipment. Support engineering or scientific personnel to discuss plans, modifications, and user needs. Review available plans, specifications, or drawings; determine the size, shape, and location of equipment. Perform design, modification, maintenance, and repair of critical environmental and energy support systems and associated highly sensitive state-of-the-art computerized controls and air quality monitoring systems located within US-Only areas of Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs). Provide critical advanced technical knowledge in support of unique security requirements inherent in INSCOM SCIF operations including sound baffling techniques / equipment and resolution of compromising electrical currents, such as sustainment of high system availability rates. Produce classified technical documentation outlining in depth technical findings and recommendations. Provide design, emergency non-routine fault isolation of smoke removal systems, fire detection / suppression equipment used exclusively in critical, highly sensitive Military installations. Perform system / subsystem diagnostics and scheduling; maintain complex electronic environmental systems, calibration and lubrication of unique components and controls used to monitor precise environmental conditions within SCIFs housing military intelligence equipment, scientific devices, and technologies. Worldwide deployable in support of strategic and tactical mobile facility environments; able to provide expert technical assistance for a 24-hour operational environment with limited documentation resources. Respond to off-duty (evening and weekend) calls to support critical system outages; providing rapid fault isolation and resolution of environmental factors affecting ISR system performance to include developing technical documentation for ISR support system layouts. Support U.S. Army deployments worldwide for contingency operations to perform quick reaction technical support to US military in potentially hazardous work environments. As required, assist in oversight or escort for contractors on repair / renovation projects. Qualifications Education / Certifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and EPA 608 Type II (HVAC) certification plus three (3) years of recent specialized experience; OR Associates degree from an accredited college or university plus seven (7) years of relevant experience in HVAC with EPA 608 Type II (HVAC) certification; OR Advanced HVAC training with EPA 608 Type II (or Universal) certification and at least seven (7) years of relevant experience. Security Clearance Requirement: Must be a US Citizen with Final Top-Secret Clearance based upon a TIER 5 Background Investigation, and favorable eligibility determination for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) IAW ICD 704. Some positions or assignments may require a Counterintelligence (CI) Scope Polygraph, especially those requiring access to TDN2. Experience / Skills: Able to maneuver in small spaces and lift 50lbs. Specific experience in fault isolation and resolution of tactical and strategic environmental systems and their sophisticated electronic support systems. Ability to plan, install, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and systems not fully covered by technical manuals, schematics, etc. Experience with HVAC control and monitoring systems and their components. Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Expert level experience in design, installation, and sustainment of computer controlled environmental systems in mobile secure facilities. Required to meet U.S. Government accepted and industry standards criteria for technically complex computer environmental systems, uninterrupted power distribution systems and power control equipment.
