Job Description

The Sr. Facilities Technician oversees the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the Olympus facility in Redmond, WA. Duties include maintenance, repair, and improvement of facility systems, manufacturing equipment, production lines, and tooling, as well as oversight of contractors. This position is responsible for ensuring that production and site operations are uninterrupted. 

Job Duties Manage the facility by servicing facility systems/equipment including compressed air, nitrogen gas, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, machine shop, specialized manufacturing and laboratory equipment, and controlled environment systems – perform repairs where possible and schedule outside contractors as needed. Identify and resolve potential safety hazards in production areas and across the facility.  Administrate the Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Calibration management system by creating/updating assets within the system and ensuring services are conducted on-time. Perform and document periodic PM for equipment and facility systems. Manage facility jobs performed by outside contractors by obtaining quotes, initiating purchase orders, scheduling, and supporting contractors during the job. Work closely with building landlord to ensure necessary repairs are completed. Coordinate with management to support corporate facility requirements (such as IT and security). Coordinate with EHS to ensure compliance to all applicable standards.  Manage the controlled environment cleanroom by scheduling monitoring activities, logging data, and investigating excursions. Required:

2-year technical degree in a maintenance related field or high school diploma/GED Minimum of 5 years experience related to facilities and/or maintenance w/2-year technical degree   Minimum of 7 years experience related to facilities and/or maintenance w/high school diploma/GED Ability to work overtime as required Occasional after-hours (evening/weekend) work required

 

Preferred:

Experience with electrical and mechanical equipment operations including general facility operations and safety Proficient in preventative maintenance software Strong understanding of all HVAC systems  Ability to read and understand schematics blue prints and mechanical drawings Ability to work according to procedures and regulations and maintain records in compliance with Good Documentation Practices Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently and in a team environment  Ability to critically think and problem solve Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel required.  Visio skills desirable.

The anticipated base pay range for this full-time position working at this location is $28.56 - $48.55 / hour, plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements). Olympus considers a variety of factors when determining actual compensation for this position, including level of experience, working location, and relevant education and certifications.
