This role will work under limited supervision and maintain facilities to minimize breakdowns (particularly for production). Perform all duties required to test, calibrate, adjust, repair, and maintain mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment. Diagnose, disassemble, clean, repair, and replace defective parts of complex equipment. Install and maintain a broad range of equipment as well as electrical, gas, air and water systems. Performs facility maintenance on a preventive or emergency basis as required with a particular focus to maintain all work areas of the facility in a safe condition. May serve as lead and assign work to less experienced employees. **What You’ll Work On** + Conducts preventive maintenance on all equipment, by cleaning, adjusting, repairing, calibrating and replacing parts. + Responsible for the installation of production equipment. + Responsible for repairs to buildings including, but not limited to, repairs to walls, ceilings, doors, painting, etc. + Repairs single and three phase electrical systems, such as air compressors, hydraulic pumps and three phase motors including HVAC and plumbing repairs. + Responsible for the treatment and purity of wastewater generated by production processes. + Assists in the establishment and execution of a preventive maintenance program. + Provides job skill training as necessary. + Maintains licenses/certifications and remains current on developments in field(s) of expertise. + Resolves and/or facilitates resolution of problems including identifying causes to prevent re-occurrence. Identifies and resolve maintenance issues; escalate issues when appropriate. + May be required to oversee waste treatment operations for the site. + Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned. + Must have a minimum of a special boilers licenses or ability to obtain a boiler license within one year of employment + Knowledge of Data center maintenance and HVAC equipment associated with Data centers which includes Generators, UPS units, power distribution units, chillers , Liebert units, gas release fire suppression systems. **Required Qualifications** + High school diploma or equivalent, and/or trade school certification/formal apprenticeship or other relevant specialized training. + Requires complete knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the job, including a working knowledge of single and three phase electrical systems and electrical, plumbing, carpentry and mechanical skills. + Demonstrated experience in using a range of standard maintenance, power and hand tools and equipment used in the trade. + Demonstrated basic reading, writing, communication, interpersonal and arithmetic skills/abilities. + Ability to function in a collaborative and cooperative work environment. + Working knowledge of commonly used desktop computer software applications (building automation, communications And Maintenance software). + Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization. + Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner. + Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail. + Must have general knowledge of heating and cooling systems for general facilities operations and controlled environment operations + Be able respond to after hour call in’s on a 24/7 basis or willing to work pre scheduled call in weeks on a rotating shift with the facilities team **Abbott is an Equal Opportunity Employer, committed to employee diversity.** The base pay for this position is $34.75 – $69.45 per hour.
