Primary Responsibilities
HDR is looking for a Project Manager to join our Federal Business Group. This position will be located in the Mid-Atlantic Region with the primary offices being Virginia Beach, VA or Arlington, VA office, but other offices within the Region may be considered. Duties include project management of multi-discipline planning and design teams to support large, medium, and small-scale federal projects, including both vertical and horizontal facilities.
The Federal Senior Project Manager will deliver various projects across the company portfolio and will have responsibilities including but not limited to the following:Lead and manage teams to execute the planning, design, and construction support activities throughout the life of assigned projects and successfully deliver multiple ongoing projects.Be responsible for achieving the scope, schedule, and budget for each assigned project to meet both client and company expectations.Be customer focused including establishing new client relationships and maintaining existing ones.Ability to be a team builder and lead multi-discipline project teams throughout the complete life cycle of projects including marketing, proposal development, negotiations, and contract execution.Additional responsibilities will include working with accounting managers, project controllers, and area manager for project reviews and implementation of QA/QC procedures.Candidates must be willing to travel throughout the U.S. and potentially abroad.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or related field from an accredited institution.Professional registration in the United States, PE or AIA.10 years of combined design and project management experience for Federal clients including but not limited to USACE, NAVFAC, OBO, and WHS.Demonstrated knowledge of Federal project life cycle including Initiation, Planning, Design, Procurement, Construction, Post Construction, and Project Closeout.Ability to pass a background check to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance; due to client contract requirements only candidates with US citizenship will be considered for the position as permitted pursuant to section 274B(a)(2)(C) of the Immigration and Nationality Act.Experience working in an Integrated Delivery scenario such as Design Build (D/B) or Early Contractor Involvement.Advanced Degree in related field from an accredited institution.Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.LEED BD C certification.Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification.Local candidates preferred.This position is subject to a governmental background check.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering 7 years related experience A minimum 2 years project management experience Professional Engineer (PE) license MS Office and MS Project experience is required (Access experience would be plus) Demonstrated leadership skills An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
