Job Summary

Accountable for the development and implementation of new value-creating technologies, products, and/or applications to address Business/Work group opportunities; champions the identification and integration of various technologies from inside and outside the organization to pursue high value
opportunities for our production asset or new products; leads specific technical segments and takes the initiative to assume responsibility for highly challenging technical projects achieving solutions to complex problems; working interdependently and seeks increased responsibility and demonstrates
consistent productivity; establishing internal reputation as a SME in a specific technical field. Provides technical oversight to others; identifies and solves diverse and poorly-defined problems; identifies alternative approaches to address new and existing challenges.

Scientific and Engineering Methodologies: • Has demonstrated several examples of applying the scientific method or engineering design process and statistics to advance project goals, • Seeks comprehensive input and utilizes meaningful literature searches and market knowledge to form hypothesis and selects and recommends approaches to projects. • Identifies changes needed in products, services, or technical objectives based on knowledge of market/application/technical trends and effectively incorporates those into value added solutions. Business, Competitor, Market and Customer Expertise and Impact • Actively supporting business strategies and needs. • Possesses sufficient business knowledge to assess cost/benefit of work. •Develops, aligns and drives the technical development process under consideration of customer needs, competitive activity and business strategy. •Focuses and links individual and group efforts with the strategic objectives of function and business. Work is directly aligned with those strategies and needs Intellectual Property and Documentation: • Assists leadership in the formation and execution of IP strategy. • Helps others to write clear, concise and timely technical reports to document significant results and completion of projects. • Publishes or presents results externally or internally. Communication: • Enhances projects by making presentations that integrate ideas, define issues, present alternatives and recommends solutions. • Develops communication strategies and implements various communication techniques that inform and influence. Collaborative Leadership: • Demonstrates ability to lead projects of moderate size and scope, shows project management skills and team leadership. • Creates new opportunities and leads others to define a program and risks for implementation of an opportunity. IFF Culture, Ethics and EH&S: • Acts as a critical focal point within their work group in the area of EH&S. • Engages in safe practices. • Uses technical insight to anticipate EH&S problems and addresses them
