Uncrewed Systems Field Applications Engineer
Teledyne Marine -Vehicles is a member of a group of leading-edge undersea technology companies that have been assembled under the Teledyne Marine umbrella. Teledyne Marine Vehicles is seeking a UK based Field Applications Engineer to join our unified Field support team for Slocum glider and Gavia AUVs with a special focus on the UK Royal Navy. Duties include technical support for RN, other UK and other European users of Slocum gliders, Gavia AUVs, and APEX floats including testing, Slocum and Gavia training, customer AUV and glider piloting, conducting Onsite Sea Acceptance Testing and supporting sales as an uncrewed system SMEs through demonstrations, technical papers and other customer outreach.
Applicants must be willing to travel internationally and be capable of work on commercial and military seagoing vessels.

Deliver Slocum and Gavia service and supportAnswering technical inquiries from customers via website, email, text, phone, etc.Travel to customer sites for testing and service and support as requiredConduct Slocum and Gavia trainingConduct Onsite Sea Acceptance Testing at customer locationsConduct Slocum glider piloting and Gavia AUV operations in support of RN and other customersSales and Marketing SupportDeploy and operate gliders and AUVs at demonstrations & trialsPresent technical papers and talksAttend tradeshows and science meetings to advise on future of product enhancements / improvementsGather customer interest and write application notes (use cases)Onsite visits to customer locationsQualifications/Requirements

Education/Experience
10+ years of UK Royal Navy experience in the operations of unmanned systems including AUVs and glidersClose connection to RN user communities in either mine countermeasures, diving, hydrography/oceanographyBS in Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science or Oceanography and 2 – 4 years of experience showing ability to diagnose, mechanical, electrical and software issues and provide solutions on complex systems; or equivalent combination of education and military experience may be consideredExperience assembling equipment, and or repairing electro-mechanical systemsExperience with small boat, and seagoing experience on large vessels, preferredExperience in operations of Gavia AUVs Slocum gliders including mission planning / execution and data analysisDetailed knowledge of sonar systems and physical oceanographyUnderstanding of naval operations of unmanned systemsAbility to creatively solve customer problems and design solutions based on customer needsExcellent communicator, both verbal and written, with strong interpersonal skillsMust be able to travel a minimum of 25% of the time, international and domesticComputer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products is essential: Excel, Word and Power PointPreferred:
