**Description** **SAIC** is seeking a **Senior Field Engineer** in **Portsmouth, VA** . **Job Duties:** + Build and test hardware and software for Windows and Nutanix based systems. + Patching for computer and network devices. + PITCO testing and setup of hardware. + Troubleshoot technical problems and issues, determines technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications. + Troubleshoot serial connections. + Troubleshoot network connectivity. + Log and respond to site tickets. + Troubleshoot legacy physical hardware and repairs units for system sustainment. + Assesses product needs in accordance with customer specifications. + Acts as local on-site representative to customer organization. + Participates in site system integrations. + Updates system and process documentation as needed. **Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree and five (5) years or more experience or Master's degree and three (3) years or more experience; years of experience accepted in lieu of degree. + Technical Training in Electronics, Computers, or Networking or successful completion of U.S. Navy electronics “C” school. + Experience in C4I Systems environments to include: systems requirements, operational requirements, test and evaluation. + Must be able to obtain a CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CASP certification within 6 months of hire. + Must have an active Secret security clearance to start and then must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance. Top Secret preferred. + Experience building and installing infrastructure. + Must be able to obtain U.S. Passport. + Up to 25% CONUS/OCONUS travel required.
