Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work of medium to high complexity as per work instructionsand ABB guidelines. Each day, you will deliver excellent customer service to satisfy customers. You will also showcaseyour expertise by working with customer to identify opportunities in the installed base, to improve system performanceand operational performance.The work model for the role is: OnsiteThis role is contributing to the Energy Industries Business in LongmeadowYou will be mainly accountable for:Ability to generate, engineer and commission C&I projects in line with customer expectations and specificationsProvide continuous support to customers and exude understanding on ABB products.Execute preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance work on ABB control systems.Execute instrumentation service tasks such as calibration during plant outages.Responsible for not exceeding costs for C&I projects during engineering/executionLiaises with other engineering personnel and disciplines to ensure that overall objectives for each project is achieved.Attend to Service call outs to customer sites when requiredMake themselves aware of, implement and comply with the company Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Policiesand ProceduresProvides quality solutions as per customer requirements and delivers within budget and contract.Ability to generate and provide accurate weekly and monthly reports.Ensures proper documentation keeping according to ABB standards.Coordinates, prepares and ensures that all materials, parts and equipment are available and at the appropriate quality forService activities.Proactively identifies potential equipment failures and requests proactive corrective actions. Troubleshoots equipmentfailure and makes recommendations to avoid repeating the problem in the future.You will join a high performing team, where you will be able to thrive.

Qualifications for the role

BSc Engineering degree or equivalentExperience in Controls and Instrumentation in generalExperience in 800xA (operation, configuration and maintenance) for at least 4 years.Experience in Symphony Melody or equivalent control systems for at least 4 years.Experience in Power Generation/Water for at least 5 yearsSpecific Skill –Control Systemsa) Instrumentation (transmitters, control valves and actuators, analyzers, metering, etc)b) Automation systemsc) Vibration monitoring (Bentley Navada)d) Local and international standardsProject ExecutionExperience on P13 or P14 control systems would be advantageousExtensive knowledge of C&I related tasks.You are at ease communicating in EnglishPreference will be given to employment equity candidates.
