Senior Finance Manager, SPS Finance - Profitability & Business Metrics Services

We are seeking a Senior Finance Manager with strong financial analysis background to provide support for Profitability & Business Metrics Services (PBMS) team, which is part of Selling Partner Services (SPS) organization. SPS are responsible for several key elements of Amazon’s flywheel: which ensure low prices for our Customers, provide a rich tool kit for our Selling Partners to work with Amazon; drive traffic and increase conversion through replenishment and promotion programs; and drive profitability and controllership initiatives to lower our cost structure. PBMS develops systems and mechanisms that deliver profitability metrics, insights and enhance decision-making for the WW Stores businesses and flywheel; such as Historical Contribution Profit (HCP), Forecasted Contribution Profit (FLCP), Turismo Business Review and Analytics. HCP provides item-level profitability metrics for each item shipped and is used in both managerial reporting and automated systems across the WW Stores businesses. HCP utilizes economic, financial, and business fundamentals to attribute costs and revenues to millions of shipments a day to drive informed decision-making at many levels. Turismo provides Amazon Stores employees with analytic tooling to enable high quality and velocity decisions to maximize free cash flow and selling partner growth. You will be leading the team that partners with operations, finance, accounting, business, and technical teams across 14 marketplaces and several businesses to audit, develop, and implement HCP allocation methodologies that assign nearly a trillion dollars of revenue and cost to units. As a finance leader, you will own building mechanisms to drive controllership, accuracy, insights and innovation in these products which directly ties to measurable, large scale improvements for the business, finance, sellers and our customers. This role operates in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment, and the successful candidate must have the ability to hire, develop, manage, and lead a high functioning team; influence the decisions of senior business leaders through effective verbal and written communication; drive accountability and cross-functional ownership models; partner with product teams to set product vision and roadmaps while helping unblock and move faster. The successful candidate must be able to think and act both strategically and tactically in an ambiguous environment with many stakeholders and opinions. This role will be a good fit if you: - are a strong leader with experience in hiring, developing, and managing finance teams - are able to challenge other finance leaders with multiple priorities to partner and drive accuracy in data sets - are highly analytical and detailed oriented with a passion for diving deep into processes, systems, and data - create new processes and mechanisms to drive controllership on inputs and outputs of the business - technically savvy and excited about partnering with a technical team to solve large scale, impactful problems - able to communicate complex issues in a clear and concise way - thrive in fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations and are able to multi task with several priorities - have solid conceptual thinking and problem solving skills - are able to work with large sets of data Key job responsibilities - Lead a multi-layered team of finance managers, analysts, program manager, and business analysts - Lead a mechanism with global, diverse stakeholders to develop and propose and approve new allocation methodologies for revenues and cost - Provide validation and impact analysis support for program launches - Develop and automate governance and financial controllership mechanisms to ensure the accountability, data quality and accuracy through all aspects of the business workflow - Dive deep into financial statements, build financial bridging and benchmarking to measure accuracy and variance analysis using Cognos TM1 - Identify automation and tooling opportunities to drive efficiency and improvements in the audit and allocation processes - Ability to gather, reconcile and analyze very large datasets through SQL and other analytical tools - Identify and communicate key metrics, achievements, and opportunities and understand the needs of our customers and users to drive product enhancements - Project management experience and ability to prioritize enhancements, features, and projects - Facilitate financial review meetings with cross-functional business, technical, and senior management Basic Qualifications - 12+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience - 3+ years of performing financial and ad hoc analysis using data reporting tools experience - 10+ years of positions that require analysis and reporting financial results experience - 8+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience - 8+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience - 8+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience - 8+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience - 7+ years of directly managing and leading a team of 10+ members experience - Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field Preferred Qualifications - 5+ years of hiring, leading and developing teams experience - 8+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience - 8+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience - 8+ years of mentoring junior finance and/or business team members experience - 5+ years of working with senior staff (e.g. c-suite) experience - MBA, or CPA Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $137,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $227,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
