Senior Finance Manager

Large Power Systems Division (LPSD) designs, tests and manufactures large diesel and natural gas engines that not only power Caterpillar machines but also power many other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. LPSD is seeking a Senior Finance Manager located in Mossville, IL or Lafayette, IN. In this role you will have the opportunity to lead financial partnership and execution of our Large Engine Capacity Expansion project. You will provide counsel and reporting to enable a robust program governance framework to LPSD’s global leadership team. This includes leading project analysis and insight generation, translating complex issues into clear and concise analysis, and developing a deep working knowledge of LPSD’s products and workstreams required to deliver the targeted capacity growth. **What You Will Do:** + Managing all aspects of financial partnership and execution in partnership with various functional teams on project workstreams as well as embedded financial teams to deliver the outcomes for the largest capital project across Caterpillar. + Coordinate across functional teams to develop a comprehensive understanding of the business and be able to translate key messages and insights to senior stakeholders. + Provides analysis to assist managers in managing costs and outcomes for large scale capital investments. + Serve as primarily liaison between the division and segment/enterprise teams for all needs related to the project and multiple sub workstreams. + Participate in strategy development and decision making to optimize future outcomes + Present and be active in discussion with senior leaders of the division **What Skills You Have:** + **Business Acumen:** Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations. + **Financial Analysis:** Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material. + **Organizational Governance:** Knowledge of the processes, customer, policies, and rules affecting the way the organization is administered and controlled; ability to ensure compliance with governance guidelines and policies. + **Strategic Thinking** **:** Knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization. + **Leadership:** Knowledge of leadership practices and processes; ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future state of things and how to get there. + **Stakeholder Management** : Expert level ability to systematically identify stakeholders, analyze their needs and expectations, and engaging with them to achieve objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future state of things and how to get there. **Top Candidates Will Also Have:** + Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience desired. + Operates as a true business partner.
