For more information, visit www.hormelfoods.com and http://csr.hormelfoods.com/ . **RESPONSIBILITIES:** We are seeking a Senior Finance Manager - Payroll to lead our Corporate Payroll team. This role is responsible for managing and supporting all payroll processes for both our Corporate Office and plant locations, ensuring prompt, accurate, and confidential payment of wages. As the Payroll Lead you will collaborate with other Centers of Excellence (COE) leads to design solutions that optimize processes and workflows, enhance employee services, and leverage the capabilities of the Oracle HCM system. Additionally, you will partner with vendors such as ADP and UKG to perform payroll-related functions and be responsible for managing those relationships. + Administers the prompt and accurate payment of all personnel by being knowledgeable of and effecting changes to the Oracle payroll solution for negotiated contracts, benefit plans, company policies, and Federal Wage and Hour regulations. This includes all types of payrolls, for example regular weekly, disability, sales incentive, year-end bonuses, joint earnings, and other miscellaneous process. Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and internal policies. + Coordinate all payroll related aspects, including system development and quarterly updates, as new company entities, and benefit and compensation programs, are added. This requires the incumbent to have a broad understanding of the various ADP SmartCompliance tax and wage payment systems, UKG timekeeping functionality, and familiarity with Oracle HCM. Ensures all processes comply with company policies and regulatory requirements. + Review and recommend for final approval all payroll-related fast formula specifications and Oracle configuration changes which might impact payroll calculations. Conducts regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls. + Train, motivate, and supervise the Corporate Payroll staff to assure accurate completion of payroll functions. This includes providing the training required for them to complete the payroll functions assigned, direct their day-to-day activities, provide the necessary hardware tools for them to be productive, and motivate them to perform the jobs assigned. + Directs all payroll locations on procedures to be used for completing payroll related functions. This may include the recording of time and attendance data, the use of computerized programs and data. Implements and monitors compliance with established regulations or procedures. + Ensures payroll financial transactions are accurate. Provide accurate pay element costing files to General Accounting for weekly processing of payroll vouchers. Ensure all payroll financial transactions comply with internal controls and audit requirements. + Supervise other payroll related functions such as legal paper withholding, accruals for bonuses, vacation, holidays, P&I, etc., general ledger cost distribution of all payroll related expenses, general ledger controls and balancing. The incumbent is also responsible for disbursing funds to 3rd parties for monies collected via. Payroll deduction. + Consults with external agencies to ensure government policies are adhered to. For example, as new taxing jurisdictions are required and ensures compliance with all relevant regulations by working cross-functionally with our Corporate Tax department when needed. + Identify and implement procedural and system changes to enhance the productivity and accuracy of the payroll functions. Coordinate the implementation of changes across the Company, including modifications to existing configurations, ensuring proper change management for successful implementation. + Provide assistance to employees and managers throughout the Company with payroll related questions and problems. Respond to requests for information, problem assistance, and guidance from employees and other managers. **QUALIFICATIONS:** Required + Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, related field or equivalent. + 5+ years of experience in Payroll, including experience leading a payroll team. + Demonstrated strong leadership skills to guide and motivate a team. + Demonstrated proficient experience with HCM systems such as ADP SmartCompliance, UKG, Oracle or similar platform. + Proven ability to manage and implement change, including process improvements and system enhancements. + A pattern of initiative; proven problem solving and decision-making skills. Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to interpret complex payroll data to make informed decisions. + Experience in managing payroll-related projects, including system implementations and upgrades. + Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders. + Well-developed written and verbal communication skills. + Strong organizational skills + Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States. + Applicants must not now, or in the future, require sponsorship for an employment visa. Preferred + CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification or making progress towards certification. **LOCATION:** Austin, MN **TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:** Travel may be required 10% of the time. At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range.
