We’re looking for a Senior Financial Accountant, CPA to join a leading team in the sustainable solutions industry, based in Calgary, Alberta. Our client is at the forefront of environmental innovation, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and practices to drive sustainability and reduce industrial waste. Senior Financial Accountant responsibilities: Prepare complex consolidation entries and ensure accurate accounting for multiple entities. Analyze and record entries for funding vehicles with both debt and equity components. Handle stock-based compensation calculations and record related entries. Prepare the first drafts of quarterly and annual financial statements, including notes to the financial statements. Collaborate with the Corporate Controller and CFO to prepare Management’s Discussion and Analysis (MD&A). Assist with other public company filings as required, such as AIF, MIC, and any other regulatory documents required for compliance and disclosure purposes. Prepare tax provision calculations and support the tax reporting process. Ensure compliance with IFRS and assist in the preparation of financial reports in line with regulatory requirements. The successful candidate has: CPA designation is mandatory. An undergraduate degree in accounting from a recognized Canadian institution. 5+ years of experience in financial accounting with a Canadian publicly traded company is required. In-depth experience working with complex consolidation entries. Strong knowledge and experience in accounting for funding vehicles with both debt and equity components. Solid understanding of stock-based compensation, including calculations and entries. Proven experience preparing financial statements and related notes. Ability to collaborate effectively with senior management on financial and operational matters. Basic knowledge of tax provision preparation and corporate tax compliance. Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills. Compensation and benefits: The salary range discussed is $100,000 - $125,000, depending on experience. Comprehensive benefits package.
