Senior Financial Analyst, Cash and Capital

We are looking to hire a Senior Financial Analyst, Cash and Capital immediately in a Hybrid (50/50) capacity at our Global Headquarters in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

The Senior Financial Analyst works closely with the Corporate Director and key Business Partners to develop and consolidate global Capital, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow projections, assists in the compilation of global scorecards, and other global reporting. This role will be a critical business partner and support for Global Functional leads, Senior Leadership, and Regional Cross Functional partners. This position will support driving FP&A excellence through best practice adoption, knowledge sharing, and process transformation to develop a global standard and ensure high-quality service for internal customers. This includes fully leveraging and exploiting technology and analytical / visualization tools to drive insight and efficiency. 

 

Primary responsibilities include:
•    Financial liaison supporting Capital and Cash Conversion Cycle reporting for McCormick Regional Businesses and Functions, including supporting annual budgets, long-term planning, quarterly forecasts, month-end close processes, and ad hoc analytics related to capital spend, working capital, and cash flow.
•    Support consolidation and reporting of McCormick’s Capital Expenditure Process, working closely with key stakeholders and cross-functional leads to forecast cash needs, anticipated expenditures, and requirements over the strategic planning horizon.
•    Support post-expenditure reviews of capital projects to determine whether the financial objectives of the projects were realized.
•    Support preparation and analysis of the cashflow forecast and reporting to senior leadership.
•    Oversee the capital model dashboard, ensuring accuracy and alignment with the Capital Steer- Co Committee. 
•    Maintain the capital matrix, policies, procedures, and templates to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
•    Conduct financial framework analysis, which includes a detailed review of Return on Invested Capital (ROIC), the leverage ratio, and other critical financial metrics.
•    Provide meaningful variance analysis including aggregating, analyzing, and forecasting cash flows to anticipate funding requirements and identify potential surpluses.
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Supply Planning, Procurement, Supply Chain Finance, Commercial Finance and FP&A to support actionable cash analytics. 
•    Support FP&A Reporting and Analysis excellence through best practice adoption, knowledge sharing, and process transformation.
•    Serve as a power-user for applicable financial systems and applications (HFM, TM1, Capital System), supporting ad-hoc training and education, and support of global users for Cash and Capital tools.
•    Complete monthly and quarterly reporting and analysis, including providing support/explanations for SOX controls.
•    Ad hoc financial analysis as required.


Education Requirements:
•    Bachelor’s Degree Required
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or an MBA preferred
•    CPA preferred

 

Experience: 
•    5+ years of experience in accounting and/or financial analysis required
•    Experience participating on projects, supporting finance initiatives with the business preferred.
•    Experience with transaction & reporting systems, including but not limited to Hyperion, SAP, TM1, Power BI, or other local systems preferred.

 

Qualified candidates must have the following skills and attributes:
•    Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities required.
•    Excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of different financial and analytical techniques preferred, and the capability to plan own work and respect deadlines required. 
•    Demonstrated ability to make judgments based on analysis of factual information, practice, and previous experience/reasonable assumptions required.                                                                        
•    Strong proven knowledge of financial accounting standards 
•    Excellent interpersonal (written and verbal) communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work across functions, cultures, and interact with all levels of the organization required.
•    Demonstrated ability to recommend and support executing new solutions to solve business problems and obstacles. 
•    Demonstrated ability of being a dynamic self-starter, to work independently and apply sound judgment to solve complex problems with incomplete and/or ambiguous information required and to proactively initiate action steps required.
•    Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to resolve issues required.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills required.

Base Salary: $86,390 to $151,220

Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan.
