Position Overview

The Senior Financial Analyst, Commercial is responsible for supporting all key financial activities supporting the NA Flavor (Custom Manufacturing and Brand Aromatics) portion of the Flavor Solutions business. This includes coordination, analysis, and recommendations for management reporting, annual plan, budget, quarterly forecast, Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process, explanation of monthly results, scenario planning, and new product initiatives. This position is responsible for providing key financially driven insights to cross functional business partners, and actively participates in both short and long-term decision-making activities.

 

Responsibilities

Serving as a key business partner to support the commercial team’s strategic initiatives and business planning Managing the NA Flavor (Custom Manufacturing and Brand Aromatics) P&L and providing monthly business reporting and analysis versus forecast, budget, and prior year Providing quick support for ad hoc requests (historical sales data, profitability analysis, trend analyses, etc.) Effectively creating, interpreting, and communicating complex financial models with a wide variety of cross functional business partners Providing analytics support and visibility to new product and commercialization processes Using critical thinking in the decision-making process to draw upon professional experience, market and industry knowledge, data, and intuition Interacting with cross-functional teams and various management levels within McCormick and presenting to high-level audiences Leveraging systems to improve analytics and processes to drive data-based insights Utilizing best practice financial reporting to meet the needs of the functional leaders, external authorities, and the stakeholders of the Company

 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting required, MBA/CPA preferred 5+ years of experience in financial analysis / accounting preferred Experience participating on projects, supporting sales and marketing initiatives, preferred Demonstrated thorough knowledge of the capabilities of transaction & reporting systems including, but not limited to SAP, Business Warehouse, EDW, TM1, or other local systems. In-depth understanding of available reporting, drill down capabilities, and ability to organize data in a way that adds value to analysis Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Word and Power Point), with advanced Excel skills required Experience working with data visualization tools, such as Power BI, preferred Excellent interpersonal (written and verbal) communications skills with a demonstrated ability to work across functions & cultures, and interact with all levels of the organization required Strong business partnering skills Demonstrated ability of being a dynamic self-starter, to work independently and apply sound judgment to solve complex problems with incomplete and/or ambiguous information and to proactively initiate action steps required Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects at once, work under pressure, apply judgment and ask for aid in prioritizing as applicable required
