SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST
Summary Job Description
Compiles and analyzes financial information for the organization. Develops revenue/expense analyses, projections, reports, and presentations. Creates and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensures financial information has been recorded accurately. Identifies trends and presents findings to senior management. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting and three to five years of experience. CPA certified or exam eligible. Reports to Department Supervisor or Manager.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities
Ensures general ledger accounts are maintained in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Performs and/or reviews account reconciliationsUnderstands multicurrency transactions and financial statement impactPrepares monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and provides analysis Identifies and implements areas of opportunity to modify or enhance current processes and ensures processes are documented and up to dateEvaluates trends, identifies and investigates unusual or unexpected variancesWorks closely with cross functional teams to gather and analyze relevant information in order to present insightful findings, analyses, and recommendations to management.Perform financial planning, analysis and reporting and will develop and support complex financial and operational objectivesMakes recommendations to resolve issues and makes corrections, as necessaryParticipates in development of functional specifications for projects and updates and ensures customizations are defined, documented, and tested, and conclusions are properly documentedPrepares integrated test plans for new processes or changes to existing systemsPrepares other management and statutory reports, as requiredAssists and helps lead monthly close processPromotes teamwork between operational groups and departmentsOther duties as assignedQualifications
Bachelor degree in Accounting3 – 5 years accounting experienceCPA or pursuing certificationExtensive knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures as relates to general ledger accountingPeopleSoft GL experience preferredStrong analytical skillsProblem solving abilitiesDetail orientedSelf-starterExcellent computer skills, especially with ExcelExcellent oral/written communication skillsStrong work ethicTeam playerAbility to travel locally, regionally and nationally as required.Not the right fit?
