If you are an accounting professional looking for an opportunity to gain experience, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Sidney, OH location, you will support the accurate and timely preparation and reporting of financial information to leadership teams.  You will also have the opportunity to provide project and systems development support for a variety of accounting functions. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to support issue resolution in those accounting areas and to evaluate, develop, and lead the implementation of process improvements. Further, you will be a key representative of the functional accounting areas as you interact across multiple functions within the HVACR Americas business in this role. You can expect to work with multiple departments and multiple businesses across the company as you participate in both local and companywide initiatives.

As a Senior Financial Analyst, You Will:

Support accurate and timely preparation of financial information for reporting to Management.Utilize Oracle general ledger software to perform job duties.Create and enter manual journal entries and prepare reconciliations for month end close and maintain supporting workpapers and analyses. Perform account analysis of various general ledger accounts. Identify and resolve issues and implement process improvements.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to meet Company and Government reporting requirements.Support field work of internal and external auditors.Participate in department and/or cross-functional projects and provide other ad-hoc analysis as needed.Engage with technical teams and other resources working on Oracle and process improvement initiatives to identify and implement process improvement opportunitiesProvide strong representation for accounting functions during project implementation and issue resolution to ensure outcomes that support efficient, accurate and timely financial transactions and reporting.Take part in an integral role with our finance/accounting co-op program, directing work and other assignments as needed.

Flexible Work Schedule – Remote Work Option and Core Hours 

This role has the flexibility of a remote work option up to three days a week and a core hour schedule. You can choose to flex your start and stop times given you are working during the core hours of 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Our teams work together to ensure our chosen work schedules enable our creativity and productivity as we serve the needs of our customers. 

Required Education, Experience & Skills:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting plus four (4) years of experienceThe candidate should possess strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and cost accounting theories and practices.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel skills, including the use of linked spreadsheets, data downloads, complex formulas, and pivot tables.Must have the ability to meet strict deadlines and balance multiple priorities.Must have strong analytical and communication skills.Must be able to work productively in a team and independently.Must have strong project leadership skills.Legal work authorization in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role

Preferred Education, Experience & Skills:

Prior experience with Oracle financial applicationsPrior experience working across multiple accounting functions.Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Power Point) including advanced functionsKnowledge of Hyperion Financial Management softwareFamiliarity with data analytics tools (Domo, Power BI, Power Query)Advanced Excel SkillsCPA and/or CMA certification(s)

Our newly renovated Sidney campus has 1M square feet of manufacturing floor with an additional 120k square feet of leading-edge lab facilities. This location is the headquarters for our HVACR Americas business unit. Through our many years of compressor expertise, our products help bring comfort and convenience to refrigeration, commercial, industrial, and residential spaces.
