Purpose of the Role:
The primary purpose of this role requires management of financial accounting process for M&P team and related activities like Budget Management, Financial Accounting, Decision Support and MIS reporting. This is a people leadership role, and will require strong focus on generating efficiencies, accelerating accounting processes and ensuring overall governance. The incumbent will be required to collaborate with various stakeholders across Business LFOs/IOs, Marketing and GSM teams.Academic Background:
The incumbent should be a qualified accountant (CA, CMA, ACCA) or MBA Finance with at least 5+ years of post-qualification experience or 6 to 10 years of post-qualification experience with B Com/ M Com / CA Intermediate.
Functional:
People leadership role with direct supervision of 2-3 colleagues. Accounting and Reporting for M&P expense and budget management along with year-end support to various Marketing & Finance teams. Total AXP M&P budget of $5.5Bn. Ensure compliance with internal service level agreements (SLA), SOX and Operational Controls, internal guidelines, accounting policies/ protocols and support internal and external audits. The incumbent will be required to have strong accounting & reconciliation knowledge, policy awareness & control mindset. Assist in periodic review and refresh for PRSA, Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and business Impact Analysis (BIA) which requires liaising with Risk Management Teams. Strong communication, relationship management & collaboration skills while closely working with various stakeholders across Controllership, Business Finance, Audit and Control groups, etc. High proficiency in MS-Office applications, Oracle Applications, Essbase and TM1, etc.Additional:
Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve queries with the ability to deal with large set of data, perform trend & variance analysis and creating meaningful insights. Self-starter with excellent verbal & written communication, presentation skills. Ability to challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvements. Quick learner, an eye for detail and ability to work during ambiguity.Technical:
