Senior Financial Analyst

The Senior Financial Analyst will provide key connectivity between Inspire Company Restaurants (ICR) team, ICR Finance, Operations teams, Restaurant Development organization, Development Analytics team, Lease Management, Legal and EPMO teams to assist in the monthly ICR Capcom process and related real estate and development analysis.  Manage the new restaurant (NRO) models for each brand and assess the financial viability of new, proposed locations.  Provide analytical support for NRO and remodel capital budgeting, forecasting, monthly variance analysis and long-range planning.  Support ad hoc real estate financial analysis, closure analysis and other restaurant development-related financial analysis.  Provide hands-on financial/business consultation to maximize sustainable profit performance by review of financial results for new restaurants, diagnosis of issues/opportunities, and development of performance action plans at restaurant and multi-unit levels. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the Inspire Company Restaurants (ICR) Capcom monthly agenda and ad hoc ICR approval requests.  Provide financial analysis for real estate-related decisions as well as coordinate and review analysis for other decision areas. Maintain and update new restaurant (NRO) pro forma models that are used in company restaurant development decisions.  Partner with the Inspire development team to review and assess new restaurant models for specific, proposed sites. Support NRO and remodel capital Budgeting annually.  As part of annual budgeting, provide analytical support for remodel selection and prioritization.  Build, assess and understand key Budget assumptions developed within the team and in coordination with Development, Operations and other stakeholders. Drive and support NRO and remodel capital recurring in-year forecasting and long-range planning. Drive and support portfolio optimization work stream inclusive of tracking project progress and measurement against project charter and stated goals Analyze and make financial approval recommendations for potential, new General Contractors. Partner with Development Planning and Development Analytics teams in several areas including: ensuring a single source of truth for ICR restaurant count tracking, analyzing potential ICR closures, and analyzing NRO and remodel sales and investment returns. Support ad hoc projects involving financial analysis related to ICR. Examples include real estate sale leaseback analysis and execution, acquired restaurant P&L performance analysis, real estate solutions analysis for underperforming locations, and other similar analysis of these types. Support ad hoc modeling related to capital spending forecasting, new restaurant financial performance and returns, and remodel investment returns.  Provide support for M&A related to ICR locations. Support capital spending variance analysis related to NRO and remodel capital to understand variance drivers and influence spending adjustments needed to manage capital Budget. 

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum: 4yr Degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field 

Preferred:  A Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting or certification (CPA/CFA) 

 

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION

Minimum:  2+ years experience in relevant work experience including finance, accounting, and/or operational analysis 

Preferred: Restaurant Experience 

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITIES

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.  Working knowledge of database applications including Microsoft Access as well as Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook 

Strong technical, analytical, problem-solving skills and process-improvement skills. 

Strong listening, communication and influencing skills, and keen ability to partner in problem solving with different business areas and stakeholders. 

Advanced understanding and working knowledge of P&L and capital budgeting, forecasting, and analysis. 

Knowledge of accounting and accounting principles. 

Strong curiosity with continuous improvement mindset and drive to support others with highly relevant / actionable insights.

Oracle Suite 

Experience with Enterprise software, planning software (ePBCS), financial consolidation software, and relational databases
