Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst

Job Description

Coordinates the preparation of operational and capital budgets, financial statements, statistical reports, financial analyses, and other financial information. Reviews and analyzes departmental budget requests and advises regarding changes in budgets to meet hospital requirements. Performs one or more specialized or complex financial analysis, budget analysis, and related fiscal functions in support of a department, service line, or hospital-wide financial/business activities. Work is performed under intermittent supervision.

ResponsibilitiesAnalyze and forecast revenue and expenditure trends. Analyze expenditures against budget projections and revenues to monitor fiscal performance.Prepare various financial reports for both internal use and as required for external purposes.Maintain various financial databases and records for reporting financial data.Complete analyses of financial transactions, budget variances, and trends for assigned department(s)/business cycle.Design and implement procedural improvements to automated systems. Recommend procedures for processing financial transactions.Develop budgetary needs of existing and new activities, including analysis and projections of appropriations and limitations. Prepare budget deviations and contingency plans.Examine historical and projected financial data to provide management with valuable data upon which to make relevant financial decisions.Maintain complete files and records; maintain various computer files and records; input and retrieve a variety of fiscal and statistical information for assigned department(s)/business cycle.Maintain liaison with other departments in the preparation and analysis of financial reports, to provide information and to resolve problems concerning variances from approved budget.Monitor budget expenditures and prepare written reports and analyses to management setting forth progress, adverse trends, and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.Prepare and coordinate distribution of various financial reports and analyses for management and external agencies to include financial analysis of individual department operations.Prepare federal, state, and other regulatory reports, ensuring compliance with established guidelines, as assigned.Prepare financial transactions and/or reports for assigned department(s)/business cycle.Essential SkillsSix (6) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experienceBachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or universityAdvanced financial analysis and forecasting skillsExperience with government payor systems (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP)Proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, and financial planningAdvanced Excel skills, including macros and pivot tablesExperience with EPIC and Workday systemsBasic accounting knowledgeAbility to analyze and develop solutions to complex problemsStrong communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to manage, organize, prioritize, multi-task, and adapt to changing prioritiesProficient in computer systems and software related to financial functionsKnowledge of local, state, and federal regulatory requirementsKnowledge of financial forecasting techniquesAbility to work effectively as both a team player and a leader

Work Environment

Location: Remote, must be comfortable working on PST time. Shift/Schedule: 8am - 5pm or 9am - 6pm.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80.00/hr.
