Ookla is looking for a Sr. Financial Analyst, FP&A to join our growing finance team. This role will play a pivotal role for Ookla as it continues its organic growth, investment in new business, and growth through acquisitions. Responsibilities will include financial modeling, budgeting and forecasting, and assisting in the monthly accounting close. The Sr. Financial Analyst will take a front seat approach to designing reports that inform management on key performance indicators, “KPIs”, and support strategic decision-making. This position offers a unique opportunity to sit within a business in the newly created Connectivity Division of Ziff Davis, reporting into the Director of FP&A, and offers unparalleled access to the managers and senior management team.

Expectations for Success
Be proactive, inquisitive and curious about how the business works, and never afraid to ask questions. Support key functions (e.g. Sales, Engineering, Product, etc) through target setting and executing sales commissions processes, including reporting and payouts.Provide real-time revenue/bookings and expense analysis during month-end close, oversee monthly operating reviews, budget versus actuals, flux analysis, and month-over-month analysis.Extract, gather, and organize data from various sources/platforms, translating these findings into organized reporting dashboards and meaningful insights.Eliminate manual processes, implement automation in financial planning and reporting, and ensure financial systems scale with business growth.Be an open and positive communicator.Bring energy, enthusiasm, and a “can do” attitude.Be comfortable with change and adapting to new responsibilities in a fast-paced and ever changing job environment.Become a trusted partner within the company to ensure that forecasts, actuals, and analyses most accurately reflect the business.Have an active interest in the industry, competition, and market.Work independently and with a sense of urgency.
Analyze financial data and create financial models to forecast future performance.Develop financial reports, dashboards, and other analytical tools to provide insights to senior management.Provide budget versus actual variance explanations and other corporate reporting requirementsPartner with sales and sales operations to ensure the Company properly recognizes revenue and bookingsCreation of revenue and cost models to help managers make business decisions on new initiatives and business strategies

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.Minimum of 5+ years working in Financial Planning & Analysis, preferably in a corporate environmentExceptional modeling and forecasting abilityExpert in Excel and other Microsoft Office softwareGood attitude towards teamwork as well as the ability to work independentlyPride in accuracy and attention to detailWilling to work hard until we get it rightHigh level of organizational skills, despite changing inputs and prioritiesExperience with financial accounting systems and CRM (e.g., Oracle Fusion, Salesforce is a plus)
