General Notes

The University Interscholastic League (UIL) is the governing body for extracurricular activities in Texas public schools. The UIL sanctions and conducts activities in academics, music and athletics for students in elementary, middle school and high school in over 1,200 member school districts.

Purpose

To provide high level administrative support as a member of the UIL business office in the areas of accounts receivable, account management, business processes and customer service, in compliance with University policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable: Process and ensure deposit of UIL's daily receivables income, ensuring adherence to UT policy. Invoice and collect payment for all outstanding invoices. Monitor and report trends in receivables to allow for budget projections.Account Management: Review payments for member school accounts and process refunds for payments incorrectly made to the UIL when necessary. Work with UIL member school districts on outstanding balances, ensuring timely follow-up and payment resolution. Business Processes: Assist with coordinating UIL business procedures and ensure adherence to UT Policy. Assist with preparing financial statements.Customer Service: Manage and process orders for UIL materials, including order creation and payment processing. Prepare and issue invoices for medal orders from UIL State events, ensuring accurate billing and timely invoicing for school districts.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in finance or accounting. Ability to display tact and professionalism, work cooperatively in a fast-paced office environment, while providing excellent customer service. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate to a broad audience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe programs. Excellent problem-solving, time management, critical thinking, and organizational skills. Ability to use sound judgment to facilitate independent decisions. Experience managing simultaneous projects and meeting tight deadlines, and ability to determine and manage priorities. 

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of UT Austin business processes and policies. General knowledge of UIL and its events. Experience with Apple computers.

Driving Required

This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).

Salary Range

$62,000 + depending on qualifications
