Job IntroductionIn Europe, we partner closely with international organizations and public sector bodies to deliver tailored services across Defence, Immigration, Space, and IT Services. We support prestigious clients such as the European Space Agency (ESA), CERN, and European Institutions.
We’re currently looking for a Senior Commercial Bid Analyst to join our Brussels office and play a key role in analysing the cost of services for bids. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects across Europe and contribute to Serco’s growth by developing financial models that shape our business decisions and client solutions.
Main ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior Commercial Bid Analyst, you will:
Customer Engagement
Analyse customer requirements (including draft contracts and technical specifications) and identify gaps or risks in the financial model.Prepare and reconcile customer financial returns to Serco’s internal financial model.Assist with customer clarification questions and engage directly with customers to present financial solutions and business cases.Financial Modelling & Analysis
Lead financial modelling for assigned bids, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards (including IFRS).Analyse customer requirements and identify gaps or misalignments in costed solutions.Prepare comprehensive commercial analyses, including risk assessments, cost-benefit analyses, and scenario modelling.Support internal governance processes by presenting clear, data-driven recommendations to decision-making forums.Perform specific deal analyses, such as win/loss assessments, Monte Carlo simulations, and benchmark reviews.Process Improvement & Mentorship
Support the continuous development of Serco’s commercial bidding policies and processes.Mentor and provide training to junior members of the Commercial bidding team and the wider Serco community.Assist in developing innovative data manipulation and modelling capabilities for new business propositions. Successful CandidateRequired Qualifications & Skills
Relevant financial degree or professional financial qualification (CIMA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent).Proven experience in financial modelling and commercial analysis, preferably in a bidding environment.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with financial reporting requirements.Knowledge of European public sector procurement processes is a strong advantage.Understanding of European labour cost structures (salaries, pensions, social security costs, indexation).Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.Strong integrity and commitment to high ethical standards.Fluency in English (additional fluency in French, Dutch, German, or Italian is a plus).Flexibility to travel as needed.
