Financial Crime Compliance aligns current activities within Global Risk and helps to build these into a more integrated framework to conduct Customer Due Diligence which enables HSBC to manage financial crime risk more effectively. It builds stronger controls to improve the way Financial Crime Compliance risks are managed in order to spot gaps as well as trends so that the team can take action. It proactively gathers and analyses financial intelligence in a smart way so that suspicious transactions, activities or connections can be identified and we can adequately protect our customers from the threat of financial crime.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as a Senior Financial Crime Manager, WPB HK.
Principal Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Senior Financial Crime Manager, PB Hong Kong are to:
Articulate the Financial Crime risks for Hong Kong Private Banking (PB) business.Primarily to support PB Advisory, to maintain an effective control framework and to ensure compliance with all relevant external laws regulations, internal codes and policies and good market practices. With primary focus on PB areaProvide advisory services to Private Banking business in order to ensure clear understanding of Financial Crime risk exposure with respect to clients, transactions and productsManage the relationship with relevant regulators on behalf of Hong KongBe responsible for second line governance of Financial Crime risks exposures, providing analysis, reporting and governance to Hong Kong that is independent of the first line of defence, thereby maintaining an objective assessment of risk exposure To exercise risk steward challenge, act as independent trusted advisory in governance forums, issue management, fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with risk owners and control ownersAssist the senior management of Hong Kong, the leadership of the Compliance function, and other colleagues on all material Financial Crime related mattersSupport as appropriate to Risk Compliance governance forum to report on progress and issues in relation to the operational effectiveness of HSBC’s policies, processes, systems and controls in countering Financial Crime risksImpact on the Business
Oversee the critical Financial Crime policies and systems that impact Hong Kong and ensure that the Group’s exposure to Financial Crime risks is managed in a commercially sensitive, practical and cost effective mannerProvide advice and support on Financial Crime risks to senior management, Compliance and other colleaguesMembership of relevant regulatory compliance related committees/forums/governance meetingsCustomer / Stakeholders
Reporting to Head of AML and FC PB HK as relevant on Financial Crime risks mattersEnsure that senior management are appropriately advised of all material Financial Crime related matters relating to Hong KongManage and foster a strong relationship with all relevant regulators in relation to the activities of Hong Kong and ensure timely disclosure of relevant information, in relation to Financial Crime related mattersEnsure that positive relationships are maintained with other external stakeholders relevant to the Financial Crime agendaLeadership and Teamwork
Maintain and develop positive and professional working relationships with senior business managers and Compliance colleagues at the Group level and those in other Regions and BusinessesSupport to establish a strategy for the sharing of Financial Crime risks related compliance knowledge and best practice across Hong Kong and the wider Compliance Function and GroupOperational Effectiveness and Control
Create a framework for the effective risk-based monitoring of the implementation of financial crime risks related policies and controls across Hong KongAgree and oversee the implementation, embedding and monitoring of the adherence to the Compliance FIM in Hong Kong
