The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Fire Inspection Captain to join the team in Berkeley, MO; Hazelwood, MO; Mascoutah, IL; or Saint Charles, MO.
The Senior Fire Inspection Captain under the general direction of the site Deputy Fire Chief will oversee and coordinate the business of the Fire Prevention office and its personnel and all fire department training activities at their site. The Senior Fire Inspection Captain will provide a daily brief to Deputy Fire Chief, Operations Captain, and on duty officer in charge of all Fire Prevention and training activities as well as status. The Senior Fire Inspection Captain will work closely with all operations personnel giving direction or requesting support as needed. The appropriate candidate will have a working knowledge of all enterprise, St. Louis County, state and national applicable fire codes and training requirements.
Position Responsibilities:
Fire Code Compliance – Enterprise Services Focal
Ensure compliance to all applicable fire codes
Enforce code violations and provide mitigating corrective actions
Assist Inspections Staff in regards to escalation mitigation
Support liaison with local jurisdiction, state and federal regulators and Fire Insurance Underwriters
Oversee the design, development and implementation of risk management programs, processes and procedures for the protection of company people, property, information and interests
Attend building construction/remodel meetings to ensure code compliance and best possible product fits the need of the Boeing Company as well as future use/growth
Utilize a design review worksheet to annotate all findings
Aid in scheduling of the Inspection Office personnel
Create time management as well as workflow efficiencies within the Inspection team
Track monthly inspection team progress
Coordinate with Enterprise Services (Facilities and Maintenance) on all testing activities to look for way to better workflow efficiencies with our business partners
Boeing St. Louis Fire Prevention Department Focal
Direct firefighters on performing building inspections of Boeing property to ensure the safety and code compliance of all employees occupying the space and proper protection of Boeing assets
Enforce code violations and provide mitigating corrective actions
Track monthly inspection process and report to management in metric
Brady “Inspect N Track” – Record retention holder and focal for all Inspect N Track inspections (extinguishers, valves, etc.)
Monitor monthly progress and provide Operations Leadership with issues to mitigate
Ensure and maintain completion of all Fire Inspection Reports in Emergency
Coordinate with Emergency Preparedness to perform evacuation drills
Coordinate and maintain all records in regards to fire prevention
Ensure inspection/testing is being performed per the set schedule set by NFPA and the Chief Officers direction (fire pumps, water-flows, PIV’s, Hydrants, etc.)
Monitor, store and update monthly valve work schedule for the St. Louis Site following all RIM requirements and complying with Enterprise Fire Protection standards
Ensure all documents kept in accordance with AP302
Train new employees on site and enterprise operations
Ensure the proper completion of all training materials prior to being released to full job function
Security & Fire Multi-Ops
Act as Back-up in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC)
Assist Emergency Preparedness Coordinator (EMP) in the stand-up and operation of EOC in the event of an emergency
Assist EMP in maintaining operational readiness of EOC
Provide integration for all training activities to include the Site Security Manager, Fire Managers and local fire and law enforcement agencies
Primary Records and Information Management (RIM) Focal for Fire
Act as primary procurement agent and Ariba focal for St. Louis Fire under direction of Deputy fire Chief
Assist Security with mitigation of threats associated with special events
Assist Site Security with general information sweeps and area control for all Very Important Persons (VIP) visits
Assist site S&FP with annual Site Security Risk Assessments
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
5+ years of experience in Aircraft Rescue Firefighting
5+ years of experience in fire inspection and/or fire prevention
State, IFSAC or Proboard Firefighter 1 certification
State, IFSAC or Proboard Firefighter 2 certification
Current National Registry or Missouri State Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification
Current Hazardous Material Technician Certification
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Fire Inspector 1 and 2 Certifications
Fire Instructor 1 and 2 Certifications
Fire Officer 1 and 2 Certifications
Experience as a lead
Experience as a Brady/Tiscor Administrator
Experience with Microsoft Office Suites
